Brilliant opening scene where she says she can’t afford fags especially at 30p a pack!

Rapid fire comedy. I thought the father came across as a bit camp, which was confirmed when jokingly he mentions his handbag.

These actors are really good at timing - sometimes I think that has more to do with comedy than the jokes, etc.

Julie Covington singing the theme song. If you’ve never heard her on the original Evita album (she didn’t play it in the theatre) give it a listen. The best Evita that never was.

Jeffrey was playful ( barking dog to her mewling cat) and delighted/bemused by smarter wife. Peter very grown up and undeservedly convinced he has the superior intellect.

Why did they have to include canned laughter for the second series. It spoilt it for me. But still a great short lived series from ITV.

Having watched this episode a few times, I've always found the sister's cold manner towards Miss Hicks on having just met her is puzzling. What is being suggested?

Anybody else think the lead actor looks like a cross between Hannibal Lecter (especially in the first episode when he was wearing a boiler suit for picking potatoes) and Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner)...
@peckerdeckerКүн бұрын
Roddy McMillan (aka Daniel Pick) is a far superior actor to Hannibal lector (Tony Hopkins). Heck- even the farm owning lady (old Irish woman,) would take Hannibal lector apart into tiny pieces. These are solid actors
