I think you would have been disappointed with the 50mm 1.4 when you have that Zeiss 55 1.8. That lens is Legendary.

I installed an older firmware; 2.01 after running both 3.01 and 5.00. 2.01 gives me wayy better autofocus

Funny enough, I just got mine brand new a couple of days ago. People get so hung up on new features, when in reality, they either never need/use them or they don't notice to begin with. It's an amazing cam and yes, there are some things that would be great but yet I've to see a cam that gives me everything I want but this gives me everything I need!

How heavy is it? Meaning would it be great to use for travel photo/videography? Currently looking for a travel camera that is full frame, great for photo AND video and as light as possible. All the "ultimate bag" videos fringe on click bait because quite frankly, unless you always shoot exactly the same thing under exactly the same circumstances, you will probably need 2 or more solutions. I have a Nya-Evo 60 for nature and travel where photography is the focus. I have a Think Tank Retrospective 10v2 for unobtrusive, spontaneous street photography, and I am still looking for an "in between" solution.

Still use D3 and D4s, they are as good now as they were when they came out, why wouldn't they be, nonsense to suggest that some cameras are questionable in 23/24. It is not the gear it is the user!

Hi new to the X100Vi camera, I have noticed this thing with my camera where when I am cycling through the different film simulations and move the camera around while the menu is open, the lcd viewfinder behind becomes a bit laggy, but when I am done selecting the simulation it goes back to normal? is that common behaviour?

I think they both do their thing. 24mm for capturing the landscape as a priotity, 35mm for capturing people in a beautiful background. I want both but cant decide because I film talking headsbfor work, but feel the 24 is way better for nature shots..idk

holy quackers, i thought this camera was released last year. And it still costs €2000 minimum in my country! What a shame. It's the only option I can grasp onto if I want to use both my Minolta lenses with the camera's own autofocus with la-ea5 and a fully mechanical shutter.

come off it you cant see what your exposure ? etc really? you need to try a d700 there is no advantage using a mirrorless because of the view finder to an optical viewfinders

I've tried to switch from Fuji to Sony 3 times in the past 6 years. Image quality, price, size and weight always make me stay with Fuji. Sony has slightly higher resolution but that's not worth the switch for me. The Fuji's focus in lower light where the Sony's can't. Just an observation. I don't really have a need for focus tracking, so that might be part of why Sony's don't do it for me. They are great cameras if you need the few specific attributes they offer.

The Lightroom's new AI Denoise with the "Raw Enhance" with it solves the x-trans worms issues completely. After using it you can sharpen the images as much as you like without the dreaded worms. Suggest you to try it out. It was one of the reasons why I dared to jump fully back to Fuji this year, after using only Sony for 5 years.

Hi Chris. Do you ever feel/hear the sensor moving around inside the A7IV? I just got mine (finally!) and realized when powered off, and no lens attached, when I tilt it to the left 90° I hear the sensor hitting the side of the camera. Doesn't happen when turned on. It's my understanding this is normal IBIS behavior. The feeling of movement didn't concern me as much as the audible sound that the sensor is constantly hitting the body when gently tilting. Anyway. Was just curious if this is normal for other A7IV users.

Great review. I have the 10L Pilot and agree with all you said and am also using as my EDC with my MBP 14. I also have the NYA-EVO Fjord 36C and agree on design and build. Great minds I guess. I'm considering the Wandrd Prvke 31L so I can carry my Z9/Zf and a few lenses with a deeper storage.

I have had it as well since it was first released. My only gripe is in Video it over heats all time in 60P 4K even in Mild climate. I tried all the "tricks" with no luck. I got one of the Dud copies no doubt. So much so I am probably going to sell it or keep it for photography only and as an emergency back up for video. I shoot video almost 95% of the time and love the quality even more than my FX3 that I sold in the pandemic when everything shut down and I was just doing photography jobs in my house in lock down. Cannot completely afford the FX3 at the moment. On the SD card slots/ Last week I had a really Big job and thank gosh I was using the recording to both cards bc one got corrupt and erased all the files in a millisecond after a glitch. First time in 25 years I had something happen like that. So IT can happen no matter anybody says. My production was well over 45.000 us$ with models, catering, etc etc. So it would have been devastating if I did not record to both cards. I immediately took both cards out and put 2 new ones in and was freaking out until I got back home and copied all the files from the good card.
