Well, I did something I should not have done, which is record this on my old-school tape recorder. (On a cassette.). I kept it. It was for personal enjoyment .... but then decided to share when KZbin came along. And very glad Donal did not complain. I was there because I had an interview with Rory later in the day and my recorder with me.

I guess he changed his strat a bit. Some say the neck of the guitar makes a difference. He had it removed to dry out. I wonder what else he had done. He makes the strat famous along with a couple others but Rory’s strat was unique to begin with I think….like maybe when he set hands on it! Ha ha. The man was a really really special guy

@@cynthiamarston2208 That interview was in Los Angeles in a hotel somewhere near the club he was playing for a few nights...! I had previously met him and interviewed him in St. Louis in a backstage room at the venue he was playing. Alas, no audio recording survived that chat. I met him a third time in Denver when he opened for Rush. Probably 1982 or so. I went backstage and found Donal and Donal was so kind to let me in to chat with Rory for a few minutes, but I wasn't doing an interview at that point.

I went to school there, from 2002-2007. At the time my ADHD was undiagnosed, I have a few teachers to thank for believing in me and helped me move forward, as well as getting me into the gifted and talented program. Mrs. Thwaites was one of them she always made learning fun. She’s one of the first teachers who kept me interested in learning new things. Mrs. Meyers is another teacher, in her class I realized my love for math, she also taught me kindness. I have a memory of one of my classmates who showed up with torn up shoes, the soles were coming off, she talked with him outside of the classroom and ended up buying him new shoes. I remember the students from Mullen coming into help out the teachers a bit, they inspired me to make it my goal to get into Mullen. I succeeded, I got the opportunity to go back into the school and assisted Mrs. Meyers. I remember her telling all the kids that I sat in one those desks 7 years prior, she showed them the class photo I was in, she told them how good I was at math, and even though I was no longer her student, she seemed proud of me and that still believed in me. During the time I assisted at Fort Logan, I was going through a rough time, I wanted to give up, I had just been diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Being in her classroom and listening to how highly she spoke of me, I didn’t want to disappoint her, I kept on pushing forward and ended up graduating. I wish I could’ve kept in contact with Mrs. Meyers, I don’t think I’d be where I’m at in my life if it wasn’t for her.
