Did you need a 4x4 vehicle to get to the Fernandez trail head?
@drewcorrales2 күн бұрын
The dirt road section is the last 2 miles leading up to the trailhead, which shouldn't need a 4x4 vehicle. I was in a Subaru Outback, but don't recall any sketchy sections. www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sierra/recreation/recarea/?recid=45806&actid=50

Can you use brown sugar instead of white?
@drewcorrales11 ай бұрын
Some recipes I referenced say brown sugar will give it more character in taste, also making the color a bit browner. Personally, I prefer brown sugar and would definitely give it a try on another batch 🎉

Isn't it dangerous to hike alone?
@drewcorrales Жыл бұрын
It can be dangerous, so hike with a buddy when you can, but when you can’t, let your friends/fam know you’re going on a hike and/or carry a gps/beacon you can use in case of emergencies.

Thanks for the beautiful and useful video. If you don't mind sharing, what was the zoom on the camera you used for this video? I'm looking to try to film some elk in the coming weeks.
@drewcorrales Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! This was shot on a GH5 (mft sensor) with a 12-35mm lens (24-70mm equivalent). I would recommend a 70-200mm (or 35-100mm on an mft system). On the way out a lot of them were far off, where the extra range would have been nice. I think I lucked out on the way back when they were grazing right by the trail, definitely took me by surprise 😅
@SpamMusubiDude Жыл бұрын
@@drewcorrales Thanks! Had a chance to go out, and the zoom helped a lot. If only the fog weren't quite so thick in summer. Will definitely go back.
@drewcorrales Жыл бұрын
@@SpamMusubiDude Nice! I need to get back out there with the longer lens. You're right about the fog, looks like it's cloudy or partly cloudy for the next could of weeks ⛅

Turns out fireworks are better the closer you are to them. I finish CCW on the 4th and watched from an overlook near Heavenly and it was kindof underwhelming watching them way down below! It was unique anyway, and cool to see the huge flotilla filling the whole south tip of the lake!

Just FYI. "220 degrees" is a measure of angular separation. If you want to give a temperature you need to specify whether you measuring in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.
