In other books I didn’t mind narrators voice, but Venitia’s voice in this one was really really annoying. It looked like narrator really hated this character. I certanly did.

What happened after Le Renard had been knocked down by Nigel? Did they drag Le Renard away, hold him prisoner somewhere, kill him? It was left a bit in the balance. [Pardon the pun].

It may be a nice story but the dead AI voices and too many ads makes it untenable. Giving up 2:38:23

How intimidating “Lucky for you!” while Felix loads his rifle right in front of him. Then having to pass 3 tests while being intimidated by her father and all her siblings, all in positions of power. If he was not already a Marquess his knees would be buckling. How considerate he is to write to her father about London. My favourite scene was the strawberry picking race. I guessed what was bothering Jocelyn so it was wonderful to have Venetia give both her and big brother Felix advice. And I found it hilarious picturing Edmunds conversation with Felix and Sheldon speaking alternate sentences. I wonder how many extra grey hairs Heath and Penelope gained after those 8 years of their children’s scandals as they each found their perfect match. Thanks Laura for the series.

What on earth is Esther doing spending time with that awful Lord Copeland? Why can’t she fob him off? She is leading him on and feeding gossip and also hurting Quintin. It is irritating. She has an understanding with Quintin. Surely she would be better having many gentlemen callers rather than just Copeland. Surely she does not intend to marry him to punish herself? How totally dysfunctional. When will she finally tell her mother and father what she wants? What a horrid mother. Oh thank goodness for Miss Rebecca “Misery only breeds more misery” Laura I truly loved the ending. Esther needed to make a grand gesture to Quintin. But I really like Lord Dunn. It would be lovely to have a story of him as a widower and his widow Sarah falling in love.

I like the narator's voice, exept for theheroin's voice, which would be ok for a verÿ little gîrl.

Best line ever. “It’s pronounced Butterscotch.” And Catherine narrated it so perfectly. I agree with the Marquis. Are any of his children going to make a match without causing drama. Cassandra is truly inspirational. A clever strategist, poised, practical and not easily ruffled emotionally. To have such courage in the ballroom situation that she did not scream when the gun went off was truly remarkable. Facing down her father and publicly proposing was also a lovely ending. I am very impressed with Quentins character and look forward to his story.

This reminds me of Romeo and Juliet and the feud between Montague and Capulets. The absolute thoughtfulness of Felix to send Jocelyn such a caring gift is heartwarming. And he remembers her mothers favourite Sonata. I love how Jocelyn quickly got to know the real Felix. He sure fell quickly for someone who intended to wait till he was 60.

How hideous her life has been. 😢 Cockell actually implies he will abuse her if she marries him. Hooray for Sheldon who is so observant. And I agree Thomas the butler deserves a knighthood. The chess imagery was very clever, especially in the climax. An intriguing yet horrifying story. I am so glad we as women have more rights now.

Good on you Susan. From age 15 she was one step ahead of those loutish boys. My favourite was the concealed umbrella angled just perfectly so the pond water and frogs landed on them. This was a charming story.

I cannot believe Dinah was correct and Eliza is willing to throw her own happiness away. And that Adam actually proposed to Augusta while loving Eliza. What an idiotic thing to do. I love how she has to choose to be Audacious enough to speak her mind and choose society and its opinions. Seth is so infuriating. It is very poor form to use “nonsense” as a stonewall to block further discussion. It is insulting.

I'd have loved listening to your story but sadly it's horribly narrated. While AI does have its merits, reading romantic novels is not one of them. Thank you so much for uploading your audiobooks, though. I very much hope for a human narrator when this series is available - so want to listen to your stories. ❤

Great narration and characterization, and then...The VISSCOUNT. Honestly, I don't care if the old English custom was to wreck the French language in spite, please Narrators, use correct pronunciation of "foreign" words. I swear it just sounds totally ignorant. Despite this, I have been enjoying the storyline. Butchering non English words (whatever that means, because English is a mish mash anyway) is just so...triggering. Lol. Kudos overall, but marked down because of this issue.
