I feel that there are decibels in bird calls that carry much farther than a human imitation. This recording carries far enough to quiet the birds on 2 acres, as they listen😂

Theres a bird in washington state that youll hear in the mountain area. It sounds like a person doing a long whistle and thats it. Idk what it is but its a very unique sound compared to the other birds and no other birds seem to sing near them

Is there a bird in Minneapolis area that sounds a LOT like a kookaburra?
@payton28723 жыл бұрын
I don't know if anyone will see this, but I'm trying to find this bird that I hear somewhat often in the woods but I have never seen what's making the noise. It kind of makes a sad lower pitched call with only one note, but it does it 7 times. Then it stops for 20-30 seconds and does it again. I'm pretty sure the bird is usually high up in the trees. It's just been bugging me because I've been trying to find out what it is, but I can't find it. I live in Pennsylvania.

It's too bad you didn't include very many western birds. I'd venture to say 90% of the birds featured were eastern or mid-western birds.

The birdsong is wonderful! The cuckoo call is so fascinating that I wrote a short musical composition about it. The title of this composition suggests singing "cuckoo" as the piece is played: "It is possible to sing the cuckoo call without playing it where you can and want, seconding the harmony, the bird is turned into mechanical piano and the human into a bird" (like in fairy tales).
