never ever worked a signal box with a computer chair, 05.30-00.30 passenger trains then ECS and tampers and engineering trains, 80 levers and 12 switch panel for main line signals and sub signals

Which car had the door or door panel from 114 on the last day? I never noticed that at the time, perhaps someone was standing in front of it when I was on

@davidwebster35192 ай бұрын
@scottishrailwayhub6271 the only cars used on the 28th of June were 106,120,103 and 119 plus two 2xx series trailer cars. I notice in the video that there's an interior shot showing 114 on one of the connecting doors. Perhaps this part was filmed on another day?
@scottishrailwayhub62712 ай бұрын
@@davidwebster3519Ohh right, I see what you’re talking about. Sorry. Yes that video was filmed the week before, the reason why was to just get some footage of the trains without so many people on board 😂

Glasgow has got to be the best city after London in the UK for a proper integrated transit system running from the suburbs and beyond through the city centre. Pity the cross rail project has been in limbo for so many years

Good evening, it is not yet entirely clear to me whether those old electric block systems (Absolute block system, if I'm not mistaken) with a wooden case were or were not influenced by the passage of trains for the purpose of occupying and freeing the section (block) towards to which and from which the train was respectively headed or from which the train came. Furthermore, it is not clear whether there is an electrical connection between the lever that controls the opening (switching from Danger to Clear) of the starting signal and the apparatus with wooden case. In other words, was it possible to pull the lever that activated the starting signal towards you without first having received electrical consent from the next station? However, it is common ground that where there is a token block it is possible to activate the lever that opens the starting signal even before having handed over the token to the driver, unless there is a mistake on my part. Thank you very much for your availability and collaboration
@scottishrailwayhub62719 ай бұрын
Hi, even though these systems are old, the electrical starter signal interlocking is there! There is a little stopper just above the weight on the bottom of the lever (starter signal levers only) which will only allow the lever catch handle to be pulled once it has been switched on by the block instrument. Therefore if no electrical clearance was given, you could not physically pull the catch handle to pull the lever.

Hello all, I have just rewatched the video because i was so surprised on how well this video did! But now i realise that the title is misleading and has all caused you confusion as the train was actually held at a signal just ahead of the platform. If you have seen our stonehaven signal box video you will be able to see the other signal on the diagram. So, the train was not booked to stop there in the first place and was just held at a signal ahead. It just looked like it had overshot when I got there. Apologies all.

Feel sorry for the passengers who missed their train/stop. The driver is at fault, they are in charge and should know the route, conditions and their train. In these conditions you have to take if carefully even if that means running late. No excuses.

@BrokenIET Жыл бұрын
Ok, so, because people can't explain why it wasn't an overshoot, here it is: The train was simply stuck behind a red signal, and was not scheduled to stop there, therefor, no overshoot.
@mudchute4dlr Жыл бұрын
How can the passangers miss a stop that the train wasnt scheduled to stop at amyway? Honestly, whoever designed signal blocks are at fault because they out the signal in a place where the train would have to stop in the station when the signal is red. The driver had nothing to do with changing these signal blocks, and therefore they couldnt do anything to change this Unless you WANT them to board passangers there when they arent meant to

Why is the semaphore signal still at clear despite the front of the train already passing the signal head?
@scottishrailwayhub6271 Жыл бұрын
The whole of the train needs to pass the signal and 2-1 needs to be sent to carmont signal box before that signal and the signal ahead of it can be thrown back to danger
