Finally, I have found this Evangelion track again. This was the first of the Evangelion soundtrack that I ever heard. I then listened to it as background music, and it was good. Yet despite that moment, I (now regretfully) moved on the next day, forgetting to take note of the title of the track. After getting more into Evangelion recently, I vaguely remembered this as part of the soundtrack (memory of the album cover and one of the comments stating 'elevators' and 'headquarters' contributing as well). This track left a first (albeit inaccurate) impression of what I thought Evangelion was supposedly like. Nevertheless, despite eventually knowing what was the anime was actually like, I still enjoy this Bossa Nova.

the evangelion series is just so wild and amazing especially the rebuilds, never seen so much detail and work put into an anime, it is insane and insane story fights and visuals, the background near always has sometime nice to look at and the rebuilds are just such vibe

The song was composed by Neal Hefti for the 1963 Broadway play "Barefoot in the park" which was made into a movie in 1967.

I just realized the lead alto/soloist here is Masato Honda from The Seatbelts. I thought I recognized the sound and style.😂 Absolutely killer arrangement, so far from the original composition itself. The steel pan drum addition is just brilliant.
