As an 11th generation Acadian whose family escaped being deported because we were too far north, I take great pride in my resilient "Cajun" ( Acadian) cousins in Louisiana. Warren Perrin deserves great praise for his efforts and the efforts of his group of museum volunteers. I have been to the museum in Erath and was pleasantly surprised at the collection amassed. They even had a display explaining how an Acadian aboiteau worked! Tim Comeau

Many Germans had a miserable time in Germany under Hiter. So going to the USA and being treated with respect was unbeleivable. After the war Germany was in ruins. My father never ate turnips once in Australia.

At least they were no longer able to commit genocide against Poles, Jews, Gypsies, etc. The German Heer (Wehrmacht) atrocities in Russia were as bad as anything the SS did. I saw villages in western Ru & Ukraine where the only thing left was a plaque stating x-number of that town were wiped out. Wiped out by those units of 'good Germans' in the Heer. The h with them all. 🤷🏻♂

When I see this spot, I can’t help but think of Lake Charles, Boozoo Chavis, that life with the horses and, sorry... the song "Slow Horses and Fast Women"!

I was born in Louisiana... In 1962. (Marksville) I left in 1988. The biggest tragedy to the Louisiana culture was the influx of Rednecks in the 80's. It was an element that destroyed part of a beautiful place. These videos make me home sick.
