My size 39 seba cj2 prime's fit really snug and are now ultra comfy. But the insoles in them were strangely tiny (short), and the skates didn't feel good on me with them. I put in some simple 'rubbery' insoles from a pair of adidas Puig skate shoes, and got a perfect fit 👌

why not use the stock exterior shock absorbers the liners come with?

I would never use those in a skate, they are too soft, maybe for someone who is much lighter than me, it could work
@bladeshred01Ай бұрын
@@bladelab that's understandable,a lot of people switch out that one for the harder standard FR harder plastic shock absorber (old seba/fr pads)....just never seen it on the inside cuz usually people buy intuition so close to their foot size there's barely space for an insole. I see your point, however after wearing xsjado skates its hard to go back to solid boot skates IMO. I recently tried to skate my USD Sways and it felt nasty. There is some benefit to the functionality of xsjado especially with regards to the forward flex of other skates.

@bladelab4 ай бұрын
If I don't like a liner without heatmolding I won't like it after. plus I lose chance to return it and decreases resale value. Heatmolding liners do work, I just rarely do it. The foam of this liner felt thick and harder than usual and I am not sure if any heat molding could change that.

You say the toe box width/height is more roomy on the iqon, but what about the width/volume around the ankle/heel?
@bladelab8 ай бұрын
I personally didn't notice a difference in the ankle and heel area other than the shape of the carbon shell, I didn't take apart an iqon boot to see it, but the carbon cups around your heel a more noticeably with the iqons, I noticed that cup edge was hurting my heel on left foot for some reason, didn't heat it, but they should came symmetric tbh (right one was totally fine)

@bladelab9 ай бұрын
I can't give you more advice than my own experience, but I can comfortably skate 300mm FR or Premium in narrow 295 carbon shells. The thems are much puffier and I currently don't even have a skate to put them into. I like the FRs the most, it's thinner than thems, but thicker than skate/premium.

Thanks Kevin, much appreciated ! People want to make rules for it and I have very small reach and influence but it makes me feel the other part of my mission is complete when I manage to either get someone to skate again or give them lightbulb moments to try out similar ideas. The problem is we won't get younger anytime soon to skate big and risky stuff again, but I think there isn't a limit on doing small but new, novel, out of the box ideas on smaller obstacles .

Friendly tip: try using black medical or food gloves. Even white ones should do the trick-maybe even better, but I assume they would get dirty much quicker. I think it could make your videos look even more premium and professional since you already paid attention to the background and lights. The functionality is the same, there is no need for protection of these thick working gloves that makes you look kind of serila killer :) Rachard got it right.
@bladelab11 ай бұрын
I normally have black latex gloves at home, I don't really like those tbh, I sweat in them so much and I only use it when I work with strong chemicals, not good for mechanical stuff, they tear so easily and they are one time use, so much waste those create. Btw I started wearing gloves in the early blade lab videos(that aren't even on yt) because I was : 1: freezing, I don't heat the other room where I work on all kinds of stuff 2: with artificial light, my hands sometimes get overexposed and oversaturated and looks like bright pink steak or something. Since I shoot mostly with natural light nowdays, it's not even necessary, it just stuck, sometimes I have it on, other times I don't. I think the opposite, the black latex gloves are the ones that give off that serial killer vibe.
