That's really a work of art! The nailhead trim is something I hadn't considered. Just a comment; our existing wood-painted range hood is a pain to keep clean, all the grease/dirt sticks to the wood finish (of course these days it's painted with latex paint), which is why I might cover it in metal somehow. I'm wondering how long it took you to pound in all those little divits in the copper sheet! That's craftsmanship.

I wish you slowed down for steps that the instructions did a terrible job of explaining.

I noticed the thumbnail image you're using is actually a photo that I took of my first Gee Bee built. Asking permission and/or a photo credit is always the polite thing to do.

I'm asking that you please remove the photo I took of my Gee Bee build from your video's thumbnail. It does not represent your work.

Thanks to your video, I was able to make this gig. I have made 11 shutters so far, I’m working on nos. 12-15, and 28 to go after that batch. A 3-year project. In my case, to replicate my 70-year-old shutters with maybe 15 coats of paint on them, I calculated a 67 degree angle. Each shutter has 32 slats. My channel is 2.5” wide and 1.5” high. The snugger the better, but too tight and it’s hard to push the stiles through. Instead of the drill bit separating system, I made an overlay template and I can quickly and easily mark the stiles exactly where to line up each of the 16 cuttings for the top and bottom sections.

Транспартувальну пробку що вставлена замість сапуна вентиляції потрібно намазати найдешевшим червоним герметиком та старанно обмотати синьою взоляційною стрічкою. Так надійніше.🙂

Why 27%? Is that standard to your boat or will it work ok with others? Good video
@HandCraftChannel Жыл бұрын
it's general starting point for boats this type, but you then will need to play with it to find your boat proper balance point

In the second part of the video where it is normal speed, and you are doing both sides of the frame for the louvers, it looks like both sides are separated by another piece of wood. Am I seeing this correctly? Or is it just two halves pressed together. In either case, did you screw them together to prevent movement? At first I thought it was one piece of wood that you could cut later, but I don't thinks so now. Thanks for the video. I like your jig the best of what I have seen on youtube (though I wish the first half went a bit slower.

Did you use anything to act as an adhesive for the copper sheets to connect to the plywood? And what did you use for nails on edging? It looks great
@HandCraftChannel Жыл бұрын
no, no adhesive between coper and wood. nails - was some kind of metal rivets from local store

where did you get water cooling mod for the engine?
@HandCraftChannel Жыл бұрын
whole engine was a gift for me from one older rc modeller, and as I know it was built in 90x, so I don't know where water cooling come from, could be it's custom built single item

I am planning to build one with a curved shaft homelite weed cutter engine i would like to know how what shaft you used? CCW? Or CW? And how did u connect the shaft to the engine. Thank you
@HandCraftChannel Жыл бұрын
@@jenneltuddao9703 as I remember I just bought some kit on ebay, which includes flexible shaft with square end, same motor had, so I just connected it directly. Something similar to this one: ebay.to/41apLRA Engine rotation was matching the prop rotation from the box. Maybe all the props which are made for gasoline engines just have that correct rotation direction only. Sorry, can't remember exactly it was 7 years ago :)
