I thought this was a joke, but this was a serious band.

Wonderful short bio that tells me much more than I ever knew about them (only that they were monster songwriters). I remember my friend and I flipping over the 45 of this song owned by his older brother in about '68 (I was 11!). Does anybody know what TV show this performance is from?

The drummer Floyd Sneed is Canadian from Calgary. He played with Tommy Chong's band in Vancouver. His sister had a daughter named Rae Dawn with Tommy. So he is Tommy's brother in law and Rae Dawn Chong's uncle!!! He is also the inspiration for Cheech and Chong's character sketch "Blind Melon Chitlin".

This is fabulous! I never realized that Van Morrison was the leader of THEM 😮 when I would listen to this song over and over as a teen in the '60s! Also, my best frirnds name was Gloria! 😘 We danced to this as 17 year olds living in a small Texas city, where the only thing to do was to go to the VFW Hall or, a cool club (no alcohol sold) for teens to dance to a DJ playing records. And, G L O R I A was hugely popular! Sometimes LiVE bands would come and play!...Like Roy Head and the Traits? Does that name ring a bell with anyone? 🤔They were a great band and did fantastic covers of many songs, including "Gloria!"🤗

It's a lip-synch. I would've thought a Herb Alpert show would've demonstrated real musicianship... but I suppose that whole horn arrangement would've been tough to present live.
