I have a "Fender" badged Stella like the one I bought in 1969 for $29 USD new. When the Harmony guitar company was going under Fender jumped in to give them a contract to create a line of beginner guitars as a promo. I knew so little about guitars and felt I was a big shot because I had a "Fender". I had it for 8 years before it got damaged beyond repair during a move. When I went to replace it they were no longer available and the Harmony guitar company was gone forever. Decades later I saw one bolted to the wall of an Applebee's restaurant as part of their retro decor. I went home, googled it looking for this lost "Fender" guitar, and found one online. I bought it. It is in primo condition I love the sound of that aged solid birch axe. I've had several guitars come into my life Martins, Washburns, etc but bringing one of these back into my home has been a delight. I love it as much as I loved my first.

John 5 had an endorsement deal with Ibanez in the late 90s for this specific guitar. The ad you showed with the sparkle one, I remember seeing in Guitar World magazines. It looks like an alternate version of the one he played with Manson on the Mechanical Animals tour. That guitar had a finish in gold sparkle and a Floyd Rose. There are barely any photos of it online. If you pull any videos from that tour (1998-1999) you'll see it in just about every video. I've long wondered what happened to this guitar, cause there's no info out there about it online. He continued to use an AX for the Holy Wood tour, but it was black like this model. If I ever met John 5, I would love to ask him what happened to these guitars. The gold one from the MA tour had to have seen a lot of playing. It wouldn't be until the 2003 tour he switched to his signature Tele for his final rodeo with Manson.

I heard they were Gutting out the insides of the Building for new corporate futures. -I only pray that someone like the Hard Rock Cafe would carefully removed the entire Stage and the overhead Stage light Box. The storied History of names and sweat left on those stage floorboards, -and the colored lights above baking it in could be preserved and live forever.

I found this guitar on Facebook today on my lunch break. 100.00 and it comes w a small peavey amp too. Thing looks brand new... even had some of the plastic still on the pick guard. Excited to sit down and plug this thing up. Funny coincidence, I'm here in Mississippi. I'm about 45 minutes from that Peavey plant in Meridian Ms

This was great! Thanks. Question: What is your thought on this vs a ‘92 Taylor 812ce (very bright, but gorgeous sound), - and on the opposite end, I have a ‘o6 Martin DM-15 (bought for bigger sound. I want to be able to strum hard in open tuning and not have it sound like John Denver came back to life. I was wondering where you thought this FG-160 “lands” in that spectrum. Someone is selling one for $200, but I don’t want a redundancy. Sorry this is so long!

My first electric "was" a similar guitar, ("is" I still have it) a 1982 Musician MC550. A very high quality axe, but the 7-ply neck-thru design makes it top heavy, an annoying problem, but it played wonderfully and sounded beautiful. I always wondered if I should've gone with my first desire, the gorgeous pearl white '82 Musician MC150. It didn't have the active EQ and was only 3-ply neck-thru, but I suspect it would've been much lighter. But all my rigorous gigging sure put a lot of battle scars on that 550. Thanks for demoing that MC500. It's also a great axe!

@@GraveyardLegendsandLore thank you so much! Unfortunately this building was demolished a few months ago. It was in terrible shape, as you saw, but I find myself really saddened by the loss of the Kobie Solomon mural. Still some historic abandoned music venues in Detroit though…the Vanity Ballroom which I made a great documentary about…and though I haven’t been inside yet, the famous Grande Ballroom still stands

I recently Nashville strung that same axe. So cool! Im the same age as you. The only Harmonies I played back when were considered junk. We had a few in jr high in the music class that were decent. It wasnt until a few years ago I realized how great they play and that solid wood tone is something else you dont see much any more. I now have nearly 100 various Harmony guitars!

Dude, excellent video! For the first 5 minutes of it, I was telling my girlfriend that the guitar in the video was my actual guitar lol. I have a 1970 Yamaki, no. 115. It has a split in the bridge saddle, which of course means the intonation is way out. Action is too high, but I can fix that. How do I fix the split in the bridge? I had the same problem with my 1973 Epiphone, I put Les Paul hardware on it, fixed the problem, but now it has no tone, I know, that was a dumb ass move.

Wikipedia says that the Grande was put on the US Register of Historic Places in 2018. So, let's hope that protects it from the wrecking ball for a while. Lets' hope that one of the rich rock stars that played there will get wind of the well-wishers hope to SAVE THE GRANDE and restore it to its original grandeur. Thomas saw the Cream, Arthur Brown, Janis Joplin, etc play there. What a gas it was. Just walk right up to the stage and talk to the greats...........
