Warning Southend staff are not trained or in training they refuse treatment if you do drugs or drink they also profile you taking your photo etc: i have contacted every helpline i can get to and im not going to give up until justice is done, southend hospital almost killed me.

So does this mean that all staff trained to care for COVID patients will all have to relocate to Basildon? How big will that unit need to be? What will be the carbon emission increase of all those staff suddenly travelling? When are the rest of the county being told?

Hi Kara Thanks for the message. Not all staff trained to care for COVID patients will have to relocate to Basildon, we are first and foremost asking Critical Care staff from Mid and Southend on a voluntary basis to come and work at Basildon. The size of the first surge unit is 26 beds for ventilated patients with the ability to move up to 50 patients and beyond if necessary. It's difficult to answer the carbon emissions question, however, some Mid/Southend staff live closer to Basildon than they do their current base units so that may offset for those who will have a longer journey.

Thank you for this message. We went to Colchester ER several times before Corona for our toddler (mainly due to very high fever that didn't go down with antipiretics or because our GP would only see us in a week time which was pointless when the baby seemed to have an ear infection). Shortly before the lockdown she stopped gong to nursery. As a result she hasn't been ill once (yay!) so no need for a doctor for her, let alone ER. I don't say the majority of your numbers dropping will amount for cases like this, but I'm sure some will. Just a thought.
