Thanks for a great video. You’ve confirmed what I’ve been experimenting with. I have a very loud Marshall and most of the time it’s set on 1 on the volume control with nowhere to go below that. I swapped out V1 for an ecc81 and now it has a much more useable range and the tone is totally unchanged.

Hi Lothar! Do you use heavier gauge strings than the light gauges with your Stratocaster? Sounds thick and nice to me.

First of all: Shit doesn't have a sound. It smells bad. Second: Yes you can play it with distortion or what ever you like as long as you hit the right notes. Third: Power chords are written differently. You will find out when you stick to the exercises. Good luck!!!

Why haven’t you used a pull off between 2nd and 3rd notes? Thank you for the videos.
@LotharsGuitarSchool2 ай бұрын
The 3rd note has a heavy short accent. When pulling off you don't get this accent strong enough. So when there is an accented note I usually don't slur, slide, pull off or hammer on. I give the accent a strong attack by picking it.

I ve been avoiding it since being traumatized by the recorder in grade 4 but I guess learning to sight read is easier and more realistic than forcing trumpeters and pianists to learn guitar tab?

Hello Lothar- I was wondering about your Gibson 175…Did you happen to purchase that from someone in the US ? Does it have a neck repair by chance the headstock? I sold my 175 on eBay to someone in Germany maybe in the early 2000's or even the 1990"s…thanks for your musical help.
@LotharsGuitarSchool5 ай бұрын
I bought my 175 in Cambridge in 1980 while I was studying at Berklee. Unfortunately I broke the neck a few years ago and got an excellent repair from the German luthier Thomas Reg'n. So I guess your former guitar is another one.

@@LotharsGuitarSchool Very cool -I was just wondering if it was the case! How amazing would that have been - btw I grew up in Hamburg form 1970 to late 1976 - got to see many great concerts at the Musikhalle and CCH - even Onkel Pös! great music and great times. Baden Powell used to come through and play a lot - even Yepes with his 10 string., I remember the Berliner Jazz Tagge with Herbie playing on channel 3 - also Keith Jarret and Musikladen with Return to forever live and Stevie Wonder! man that never happened in the US. I am an american that lives in California but mback then i was 10 years when I first came to Hamburg. Govi schalplatten laden - Pop magazine - Sounds too. I did see Little Feat 2 x in Hamburg as well. Geneis 2x's so many shows - so many shows…Good luck to you - I wish you were closer by to make some music together - that would fun. Cheers - yurolson - Dan Libertino
