I have an idea for a pairing. We play euchre, and Aunt Vicki drinks whatever she wants. 💛💛💛🦜

A great run down. Plenty of distilleries I've never heard of, which is always a good sign.

We love the hidden gems and value buys. Everyone can find Glenlivet or Macallan 12 year; but loving whisky can also be about trying new ones and pushing your palate. Tried anything lately you'd recommend?

Thanks for the video. I regularly play with the same group and would love to plan a gaming weekend with them and your video pointed out things to keep in mind when planning. I also love the concept of your posts....pairing games with drinks is a great idea.
@boardsandbottlesАй бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. Having a game weekend takes Game Group to the next level. If you play together routinely, then you've already got inside jokes; but a game weekend creates more lasting common experiences. It's a great way to shed your day-to-day and get lost in the fun. Please let us know how it goes, even if it doesn't happen for a while. Any suggestions we can offer, we would be happy to provide. Cheers!

@Andy-Mesa8 ай бұрын
This game rewards repeated play. If you're not willing or able to play it repeatedly, then it's probably not for you. The same can be said for any number of excellent nuanced games that reveal themselves over time and exploration. Also, there's only one rulebook, the Reference Manual. Any question you have should be answered in the Reference Manual or in game.
@boardsandbottles8 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. Looks like we’ll have to give it another whirl. Very true about nuanced games. Usually I dream about games like that and feel the urge to play them again. Lots of moving parts in Stationfall and confounding moments. Cheers!
@Dan-uh3hl6 ай бұрын
I definitely did not enjoy the game enough that I think it warrants repeated plays. But each to their own. My copy came with three rulebooks - Launch Manual, Reference Manual, and Character Dossier. Call them what you like....they're rulebooks. None of them are intuitive.
@Andy-Mesa6 ай бұрын
That's entirely up to you. I've played games multiple times that I ended up not enjoying, and others that I hated on initial plays but ended up loving. The fact remains, this game objectively gets better the more you play it. Launch Manual is a scripted playthough, and Character Dossiers just repeats the same information found on the cards. Neither of these are rulebooks and you could throw them away without losing anything necessary.

Merry Christmas! Since your lists overlapped so much, I wonder which others you would include if you had to come up with a different one every time the other had already mentioned yours. :)
@boardsandbottles9 ай бұрын
This is definitely the downside of gaming so much together and liking similar types of games. Perhaps we will compare lists beforehand, although that might remove some of the spontaneity. Food for thought, for sure. Great feedback!

Great costume Alex! Great video too! The Quacks of Quedlinburg sounds very fun. I collect antique bottles that contained "remedies" that were peddled by charlatans... Such as Dr. Kilmer's Swamp root kidney cure! The list of ingredients in it are probably the same as the tokens in that game. Haha! Another great drink is apple cider and caramel vodka. Yum!

Apple Cider and Caramel vodka sounds like quite a recipe. One that I might just have to try...

Oh Bradley, you still need to be schooled in Golf. The Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup are two separate entities. The Ryder Cup is held every 2 years, but it alternates being held in Europe and in the USA. This year the Ryder Cup was held in Rome, Italy. Two years from now it will be held in USA, at Bethpage Black, NY. The difference between the 2 events is that Ryder Cup is the US vs. Europe, and the Presidents Cup is the USA vs. an International Team comprised of every international country EXCEPT Europe. The Ryder Cup came first and is the original. It used to be Ryder Cup held in even numbers years and Presidents Cup in odd, but that got thrown off with the COVID pandemic, which is why we now get Ryder Cup in odd years.

Alex, if your OCD dad is watching, you are in big trouble for letting that beer spill sit there on the wooden table. Aunt Vicki is not OCD but I want to jump through the screen and mop it up myself! OK, maybe I am getting a bit OCD in my old age. I'm allowed.
