I always thought stevie Ray Vaughan was the best guitarist ever. But when i discovered gypsy jazz i realized gypsy jazz players are all goats.

Violinist has vibrant vibrato. Really his left hand vibrates without shaking the violin. That is impressive.

I had the great honor of playing on this and several other Bugs Henderson recording in the late 70’s and 80’s along with Rockin’ Ron Thompson (RIP) on drums.

I heard this song when I was 15. We thought Bugs was an "old man" who could REALLY play. Lol...he was 35 or 36 at the time. R.I.P.

@@RootinrPootine plays too much with not enough emotion. he's like a bonamassa playing blues. lots of techno but no real mojo( for lack of a better word)
@RootinrPootine
@RootinrPootine 2 жыл бұрын
@@billgator2005 you can find examples of that in his Bireli work. But not as much as some others. And this is not a good example. Problem with anti-shredder types is they don’t recognize when it actually does have emotion. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Not here anyway. This concert-take Si Tu Savais-it’s a lot much shred-y than this, but nonetheless, it’s very musical. No doubt about it. Besides, shredding is just part of the style. Django had his cliches in that regard too.

@@RootinrPootine same reply. there are under rated guitarists that are a more enjoyable listen than lagrene. shredding is technique whether in metal, junk, or jazz. speed is something aside from it. perhaps watch players other than the promoted greats and you will hear the difference. i watch some young players on youtube who are every bit as talented techno speaking and with the feel. some of their renditions equal or exceed the promo'd greats. and for musical? do you feel something. does the player cause you to feel strong emotions( and i don't mean wft is this crap? so you turn it off). i'm not into lagrene and have never watched a complete tune of his. same with many of the promo'd artists. but i have listened to some very talented semi pro types who gain many re watches playing the same tunes. go figure. i suppose i am off base from the remains of idiolistic listeners. there is a dude who even plays with 2-3 finders when doing django. it gives the same sense of his playing as the original. if it suits you listen if not delete.

Interesting find. Not a random recommendation like most other things - tried a “find that song” app by humming something in my head, and it lead me here. I like this. Gonna save it for later.

Il nous balance un sacré chorus le Bireli ! Il fait vraiment honneur au morceau de Django. Comme le dit Romane, Bireli Lagrene est vraiment celui qui emmène le plus loin l'héritage de Django.
