I’m hoping to go kayak fishing here soon and bringing two kayaks :) Are there any fees to get into the park?
@dholmes104Ай бұрын
Yea it’s a state park I think it’s 7 bucks a boat but you’ll have to check the website or the sign at the ramp. It should have the amount. U can also put in at the creek before u get to the lake but have to pay at the main box then go back.
@wolffortenberry33Ай бұрын
@@dholmes104I found the website and it is indeed saying $7/boat currently. I do wish they would price it different for kayaks since they generally only carry one person versus your typical John or bass boat. But it is what it is! I’m excited to catch some bass regardless

Lived next to PQ for 3 years. U could see it on a winter day from our SW corner of property (25 acres). Lots of gators back in the 80's. Shad snagging on over flow was common. Dogs had to b leashed cause gators would crawl up on bank 2 or 3 at a time trying to eat them. Gators kept coming and dogs kept barking and dodging the gator's thrashing tail.
@dholmes1043 ай бұрын
Yea there is still plenty gators in there for sure.

Do you have much luck flipping the big timber in summer?

I recognized that cove. Fished it this summer once just to see what it was like and didn’t have any luck but glad to see you caught something there. I had a good feeling bass were there just might have been too late in the summer. I live like 15 minutes from Lake Lincoln but never had much luck the few times I’ve been.

I haven’t caught a lot there but always get a few. Only been to this lake a few times looking forward to going again.

It’s not lake Percy quinn. It’s Percy Quinn state park. It’s lake Tangipoagh. I live about 15 minutes away from it and we got there 2-3 times a year

Not sure I’ve never camped here. I know a few folks that camped in an RV and liked it but not sure about tents.

I’ve not kayaked this one yet. Did you put in at Finley Branch?
@dholmes1042 жыл бұрын
Not sure the name of the branch but it’s the branch just before you get to the lake that I put in. It puts you in the back of the lake. Prob the best way for a kayak. Just fyi you still have to go to the office and pay launch fee.

Nice video! Love that place! Were the lilies thick on the left bank as you came out of the creek where you launched?
@dholmes1042 жыл бұрын
Yea still fishable and they where in them. I just didn’t have any luck. I had all my luck at the first cove to the right after the creek. 4/6 ft of water.

Another great video. Maybe I'll have to have my cousin pull out the bass boat and hot some of these lakes you are featuring.

Nice video. I'm going to be visiting that area Jackson/Madison in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I won't be bringing my Hobie PA 14 360 all the way from California. (I wish) What are some good shorefishing spots I should check out while I'm in town?

@@dholmes104 That's my cousins favorite spot as he lives in Madison. Coming from California, I like to get as far away from the city as I can. We own riverfront (Strong River) property in Pinola. I may try my luck back there. I'll be grabbing a fishing license as soon as I get off the plane. 🤣. I already mailed my freshwater tackle box down there.
