I still can't see how the crystals are connected. I presume you have 2 alligator clips and cables coming from the Tinysa but where are the other 2 alligator clips and cables coming from?

Hello cliff, I have two sma-alligator clips cables, which I have connected to the tiny sa. Each cable has two aligator clips at its end, one red clip and one black clip. To make the experiment I've connected the black alligator clip from each cable together, and the red alligator clip from each cable, to the Crystal that i was testing. Hope this will clarify method of connection.

I can't see how you have connected the crystal. You need to zoom out at the beginning.

The crystal under test is connected to the red part of the alligator clip of each cable, while the black alligator clips are connected together.

Where do we buy these radios? I have searched google with no luck

Hello Lee, (K5NOV). I Got mine on eBay, the seller is located in Pennsylvania, which encouraged me to get the radio (local warranty and not overseas service). I did the google search myself also and I couldn't find this radio either, though they have handheld ones, maybe it's been discontinued for some reason. Mine still work great.

I know this is getting to be a pretty old post but I found them being sold at eBay here: www.ebay.com/itm/Westcom-DM-880-TYT-MD9600-Version-3-Dual-Band-UHF-VHF-Mobile/123573046032?hash=item1cc5870b10:g:BhkAAOSwsFpaHG1o They are a copy of the TYT MD-9600 and just appear to be assembled here in the US (as others have stated). I was looking for a mobile DMR radio and just happened to come across it on eBay. Came over here to see if anyone had reviewed one and saw this post :) I am in no way affilated with guys selling these, just thought you might still be looking. As side note, it looks like they have the version 3 firmware on them. If they are copies of the TYT DM-9600 then that firmware revision fixed a hissing problem that was in the previous releases. You can do search here on KZbin about the issues with previous firmware versions on the DM-9600.

Hello brubru. I was told it might be a loose connection of the ribbon cable inside, that connects the display section to the electronics board. But unfortunately it wasn't the case. I contacted the seller and got a replacement radio since it was under warranty still. I don't know what caused it. My radio is very well cared for and gently used. After turning off my radio i completely shut the power supply off when i don't use it.

It's supposed to store 800 + Memory channels. I've Programmed The repeaters in Order Of Proximity to my Location, All- in- All, around 106 repeaters (that's A lot) there's more that I didn't even put in ; cause I got tired of inputing frequencies and callsigns.., A lot of them are out of reach from where i'm now even on full power.... But in case I travel around with this radio, I might at least make contact with one. I Contacted the Seller about this issue and I think they're TYT Dealers but Still there is no news from them. They reffered this issue to Tech dept. I was going to get another radio from them but now i'm holding off.
