Thanks for this tut, very nice! I was curious, wouldn't it be more appropriate to work from Smart Object layers so we can go back in and change the settings to the filters as well?

Really great tutorial, thank you! (one little remark; stamped layer on pc is CTRL + ALT + E , so ALT no A :-)

Great tutorial, but if I just want to change someone's mouth (lips) cause they were sucked in. So I'm going to change their mouth (Lips) out with another mouth (lips) shot. So can I do the same technique without doing the whole face? Or it will be better to do the whole face?

Wonderfully detailed and useful tutorial using Photoshop 2023. If you are using Photoshop 2024, the gradient tool has changed. To get the gradient in the alpha channel, you have to select 'classic gradient' - the default is Gradient, the new tool.

Excellent tutorial! Though, this image of a guitar I was experimenting with didn't turn out so good. However, any amount of knowledge I can pickup for photoshop is always good! I'll have to try this on other things to see how it turns out.

Good technique, but the result shows that it is important that the two photos be taken from roughly the same distance from the model. The new face seems to have been shot much closer, resulting in artificial perspective of the features.

First...I think you are GREAT at doing tutorials!! You are easy to listen to and your step by step is SO easy to follow. I tried doing this on a black & white portrait...........and the finished product did not turn out like yours did. Any tips on doing a black & white portrait?

Thanks so much for your comments and feedback! We focus primarily on ecommerce and product photography so don't do too much portrait photo editing which has different nuances. Sorry we can't help more :(
