My uncle lived across from Steve’s Midtown Market, now Stevie’s. My mom lived in Plan 11 then on the corner of Kennedy and ??? the brown 4 story. Goysich family. John, Joe and Frances were the kids. John and Clara the parents. We shopped at Stamen’s and the men’s store downtown. Once in awhile a Pirates game. Breezy’s and Mac’s and of course oh what was the name of the supper club out on Broadhead Road?? Miss jumbo, chipped ham and Tarquinian bread! Thanks for the video! Sad to see it in this condition but I applaud those trying their best to keep it up and running. Make another video!😁

Corner of Franklin Ave and Kennedy Blvd. Jacob son’s men’s store downtown and Harold’s Inn. Took me a minute to remember all those places.

My job takes me through cemeteries, a lot of time of nights and the area is always creepy. The Grove Cemetary in New Brighton has made me anxious more than a few times. I always feel watched there.

Hello Mark. Beaver County historian with a master's degree in archaeology and working on my PhD in history. In 2004, a geophysicist volunteered his valuable time to conduct a Ground Penetrating Radar study at the site. I have forwarded this video to him; hopefully, he will comment. He noted that the bedrock in that location is just under the surface, and he picked up nothing in the subsurface strata. Your video at 4:12 shows telltale marks of modern cutting tools, such as you would see in an old building's cut foundation. The two circular holes on the opposite side have been considerably weathered. That place is much easier to get to from the North Country Trail, and we visited the site a few years ago. The two weathered stone circles may be prehistoric and used to crush acorns, chestnuts, butternuts, etc. These "Nutting Stones" are pretty standard throughout North America. The "hammerstones," usually nearby, have been carted off by the curious. I thoroughly scanned the ground cover and saw no flakes of chert or flint, which are everywhere on prehistoric sites. It may be a place where resources were collected, crushed, and taken away. The water nearby is a hike, but it is a beautiful place to camp overnight and a place that has probably been visited for many thousands of years.

Yes, I would have to agree; however, I see no evidence of something of historical merit that has been affiliated with this location over the years. Thank you for your informative input. 👍

@@MarkGrago I think it is just one of many interesting features of the landscape on Little Beaver Creek, which has many prehistoric sites that remain to be discovered.

A metal detectorist found a brass eagle head that attached to a saddle pommel. Civil war cavalry officers purchased them to decorate their saddles. It was found on Tuscarawas road above Beaver. That's where the Anderson family lived and the Colonel was the only cavalry officer from Beaver County. We assume that it was his. Guessing that since he died shortly after coming home the saddle was forgotten in a barn, molded out and was finally discarded.

In nw Ohio. If you look around any high spot or old sand dune you will find arrow heads. This was the great black swamp. Those spots were high dry ground. And prime Pickens for camp. Every natural hill has stuff up here

@@MarkGrago I live here in the old swamp. I wish people would care about all the history here.. there is a mound on the south side of Bradner than no one can remember it not being there. Not even my grandparents.. I’d love it to be looked at. But farmers around here cover up and destroy any finds. Farmers have destroyed so much. And I know because I grew up on a farm where the neighbors did not care.. it’s criminal what they destroyed

History of our lives, a lot of the aboriginal people put Ohio on their way to the great lakes, some stayed, I'm of the chic-a-saw my grandparents lived in the South western part of this land, just east near center was the firelands, it offered a way for the farming aboriginal American to farm, many many tribes used the lakes as a very good source of food and water along with essential building materials,

Great video i grew up looking for arrow heads down the river in West Virginia I now live in coraopolis and have recently started searching the river and creeks in this area without much luck so far I’m fascinated with Native American culture and I am sure this area is loaded with artifacts but so much much of the river in Allegheny county has erosion prevention and I’m struggling to find good places to search any tips would be greatly appreciated I get joy from showing people my small collection and explaining what I know about the pieces I have found a couple nutting stones some flakes one dart tip and one large chunk of black flint with spulls taken off it is all i have found in almost a year or searching

My name is Scott. I was the night watchman at CCBC. For 9 months. I can tell you this story is absolutely true. I would be here all night telling yin's the stuff I seen happen in bldg 6....the allied health bldg. But I will skip to the day I quit. I was turning down the doors in the morning around 600am so the students could get in. It was just getting light outside, just enough that if you were looking through the glass to the outside, you could see the reflection of the hallway behind you. There was a black leather couch across the hallway behind me. There was a man in a black suit, with salt and pepper hair combed back, a moustache and beard. I turned around there was no one there, I looked back to the glass and he was there. I busted through the doors , ran around the side of the bldg over a hill, I slipped a slid head first down the Dewey grass. I was so afraid, my car was right there but I was afraid he would appear in my back seat. So I ran, looking down at the sidewalk only , through the campus until I reached the security office. I cracked a book and turned on the radio so I would see nor hear anything but the pages and the radio until my relief came.....campus police. I told him I quit , he already knew why, he laughed and proceeded to tell me about the professor. This is no joke, it is a documented haunting. Most afraid I've ever been and I don't scare easy.

I worked at Mickey's Barber Shop for many many years Mick opened the shop when the Mall opened and took out a 25-year lease everyone told him he was nuts then after 25 years he wanted to renegotiate and they put him on the back burner for another 10 years so he kept paying the same amount of rent that he was paying when he opened....and he made a killing

I grew up and graduated from New Brighton. One landmark that is usually over looked by these types of New Brighton videos is Standard Horse Nail factory still in existence today with a lot history. New Brighton was an integral part of the Underground Railroad
