At this time nobody wanted to play against Higgins because they had the audience agsinst them. Higgins Was the peoples champion

Alex Higgins should've won more than he actually did during his career. If he'd played his all-around game rather than pleasing the crowd the majority of the time, he'd have been much more consistent. He threw more tournaments away because of this. Davis said himself when he played his all-around game his safety was even better than his.

Burroughes and Watts or Burwatt champion cue I think? He had a load of work done to it in the mid 80s, converted it to 2 piece had a new butt spliced on it, it was like Triggers broom! My local cue maker still has the butt section from it.

I think I used KZbin's own filter to slow it down, so it probably was an early AI algorithm which was adding frames and smoothing or something. There's another upload of the original, which you can play slow I suppose.

I never noticed it before but Alex was a genius on the centre pockets and used them a lot for his breaks where the more orthodox method is to pot in the corners as much as you can.

@robboddcc30035 ай бұрын
Davis could still compete now at the age of 65 if he was able to commit to the practice and have the will power

Fred Davis did at that age beating the legendary Kirk Stevens in the World Championship aged 65.

wish i cud go back to 1983. i was 1. id change everything i ever did. if i ever walked left, id walk right!! nowadays day to day life is super fast so many demands, replies,requests, parking queues, overpopulation, renters in streets that were in 1983 communitys, we had the troubles but we had michael jackson Thriller and Billie Jean and top of the pops and decent bands including belfast band The Adventures making waves in england, todays life most young people just deal with social media's pure pressure to be someone or something feel the pressure to be seen to be someone. im 41 now yet life is non-stop plus theres no good new bands on the go its all rap or quirky advert music nonsense. even man city are actually winners these days and we have massive queue's in hospitals, dentists and gps over-run. Id go back to 1983 in a heartbeat. rant over lolo sorry!!! At least we have Ronnie Osullivan, no one watching tis match that evening had a clue there was a wee genius on the way!

Those 2 masse shots Alex played in the first frame shown here are a great argument for the miss rule...not saying he did that intentionally, but he certainly gained an advantage by playing them that way and not risking changing the situation of the balls if he was unsuccessful.
