I'm reading Stefan Zweig and the two first chapters of Le monde d'hier depict such a charming and artistic picture of Vienna before any of the world wars. I understand why he loved this city so much and mourned it.

The Kaiser who brought Germany into their heyday (Blütezeit)! Es lebe der Kaiser! Lang lebe Kaiser Wilhem I! He made with Bismarck Germany Strong! And then Wilhelm II destroyed it all.... Bismarck warned that he wil end the Kaiserreich (German Empire).

My Great Great Grandpa was swiss but he moved to Russia aka The Russian Empire. He found there the Love of his Life. During Ww1 he served in the Imperial Army. Then when the Civil War broke out he had to make a Choice: Fight along the White Army or go home..... He decided to fight along his old Comrades in the White Army to fight for their Country, for Their People, for their Culture and to defeat Communism in Russia! But.... He died in this War. My Family is very Proud of him! He was the only one who served so long in a foreign army.... He fought and died to bring stability and Democracy to Russia! Im so Proud of him. May God bless him.
