I recently bought a 202 208 GTline and I am very satisfied. Unfortunately, the ambient lighting doesn't want to work. I've tried a lot of things: resetting the system, updating it and restarting it. When I switch it on in the settings, change the colour or brightness, absolutely nothing happens and the lighting stays off. Can someone please help me?

I have just bought a 2013 208 and the dip beam headlights were set much too low, making night time driving a dangerous adventure! I have since adjusted them using this method although the screw mechanism on the 208 is slightly different. Saved a trip to the dealer thank you.

Hi- In summer (above 12-15°C) about 180 miles of A roads, and around 130-140 miles at legal motorway speeds. In winter, around 130-140 A roads and motorway around 110-130 miles.

My e208 2020 is a Gt-Line. The 8 colour lighting was standard. Stitched dashboard and carbon look was standard. Only reverse camera, uses the rear camera to ‘build’ a pseudo surround picture. No front camera. This was the Visio pack. The difference between Gt-Line and GT was different seat fabric colour and GT had heated seats and 10” centre screen with sat Nav as standard. Don’t know what the latest specifications are though.

thanks for the video! question.. how does it play with the scheduled charge option of a home charger, like wallbox? i know that you can also select when to charge in the wallbox app.. should both settings (wallbox and car) match? do you have any experience with that? I got my e208 today, super excited about it! and the wallbox next week :)

Hi! I’m wondering if you can help me please. I have been trying to do the deferred charging, but it just won’t start! I’ve set the time, for 5 minutes after I’ve set it and it never starts charging. It just stays blue. I do everything as per your video, but it just won’t do it! Clock is in 24hour also. Another thing, which isn’t related to charging, I drive on the motorway 5 days a week for work, I know there are meant to be lights that come on in the wing mirrors, but they never have. The setting for this is set to on, I’ve turned off and on, reset, everything. They just won’t work. It’s a brand new car and Peugeot don’t have any answers. I love the car but I am this close to sending it back as it’s costing me a lot more to charge during peak times! And it was an expensive car to buy, I should have everything working right! Thanks.

This has been helpful to me, thank you! I’ve got a 2022 E2008 and it was delivered with the headlight alignment set so bloody high that every other driver at night was flashing me and I’ve even had a copper yell at me for “blinding him” when I was driving behind him. The supplying dealer just told me “They are set correctly at the factory” and didn’t even entertain checking it. I knocked them down slightly and all is well. I’ve got it booked in to check light alignment though just in case.

My dash is still different when it come to the keys above the switches but I will give it a go. Can I plug mine into a Tesla charger? It appears to have the extra holes

Depends which Tesla chargers you refer to. If the ‘destination’ chargers (AC) then you can so long as it’s the one with the white sign- usually red signed unit is Tesla only. If it’s the Superchargers (DC/CCS) you refer to then - sort of- the car is capable as CCS is a universal connection. However Tesla only have 15 ‘open public’ sites in the UK on trial at the moment. The other sites no third party car will work yet. You would of course need the Tesla app set up to pay and search etc.

There is not a way to limit the charge level apart from manually stopping the charge or setting a timer on the charge point. The car has a buffer at the top so 100% isn’t a true 100%. I’ve done 45,000 miles and charged to 100% every night (almost) and there has been no noticeable loss of capacity/range. If I’m going on holiday without the car, I just ensure it is left at around 80% SoC. It’s not good to leave the battery fully charged for any length of time. If a short few hours etc, it isn’t going to make any real difference, if you were concerned about battery life.

Ha! Interesting. So you're not able to actually personalise them. Simply pick from another 3 options. Peugeot may as well have just added those to the list to scroll through. I had visions of being able to select from different elements and place them on the dashboard where I wanted them. Fair enough.

Hi- It’s not as good as the Tesla one. It won’t show you stops or for how long on the initial route plan. It will highlight the lack of range and when you get towards the low SoC it will warn you and offer up a selection of charge points to select. Imo it’s better to know roughly how far you can travel and then use PlugShare or ZapMap to know which DC chargers to go for.

Depends on the type of roads you drive and ultimately how fast you drive. In general, Motorway 120-130 miles in winter. Main A roads approx 130-150 miles Summer motorway 125-145 miles and A roads circa 160-180 miles.

Hi- Yes you can. Press the footbrake and then press and hold the ‘start’ button for a couple of seconds, just as if you were going to drive away. The car won’t be able to select gears etc, but will be on properly and you can have heat and air conditioning. It will show a red cable in the dash as a warning you can’t drive off. Remember to turn the car ‘off’ before trying to disconnect or end the charge. If you don’t turn off it won’t allow you to disconnect the charge cable.

How much does it cost to fully charge from empty/flat?

Depends on how low the SoC (state of charge ) is and the cost of each ‘rapid’ charge point. Many car dealer offer an incentive card with some suppliers etc. However - if you were down to 1% remaining and charged to 100% it would need about 44*£0.35=£15.40 for about 175 miles travel. It is cheaper at home from a domestic charge point, currently £2.20 for the same. There are some charging losses to be allowed for as well but the above give a general view. I will also point out that on a rapid charger it is courtesy not to charge over around 85% as the car slows the charge speed down. So unless you desperately need 100% it’s often quicker to move on and charge a small amount later on.

Hi Press ‘setting’ the cog wheels at the top right of screen Options Then (I think) System setting Choose the miles. It will auto change the drivers dash display as well.

When buying the GT car I'm confused it says GT packed and GT 11kwch on bored option, do I need the 11? I'm in the UK and will need to have public charging.. I was wondering if it's needed since it's 2k more

Unless you have access to lots of 22kW AC charge points at work to use on a daily basis the standard 7kW OBC is sufficient. 11kW OBC is often standard in EU countries as more have 3 phase electric supply to homes. UK is usually single phase so max 7kW supply from house to a single charge point. If for the extra money you get other equipment then it may be worth it but I’m happy with 7kW OBC.

How's the range? I want one of them cars but everyone says it's over priced cos it only dose 160-170 real world range, for 34k it's crazy.. the Zoe dose more I expected better from them.. but I love the looks

The real world range is around 160-180. I have done 214 miles but I was trying hard to achieve it. However as I normally do 120-160 miles per day it covers what I need on a daily basis. It is a 45kWh useable battery. Assuming you mean the Zoe 50 that has a useable 52kWh battery. I love the car and for me, as it does the range I need I will happily have the style.

With the e208 can you listen to the radio and use the infotainment screen, say for checking navigation maps or android auto or apple carplay, while charging up?

Yes you can. Once you start the charge, get back in the car and then go through the same procedure as if to start the car normally. Footbrake on, press and hold start button for a couple of secs. Once dash is activated release the footbrake. It won’t say “ready” as it’s plugged in and won’t allow you to drive- it might even warn about this and show the ‘plugged in’ symbol. However, this means you can enjoy the heating/ cooling, radio etc without discharging the 12v. Just remember to turn the car ‘off’ before you try to unplug the charger.

Do you mean when you drive off? If so, press and hold the lock button that is on the ‘piano’ keys on the dashboard. If you mean as you approach/walk away from the car, that depends on the equipment level.

Probably a stupid question but on locking and unlocking, do your lights still function as they do in this video? I have an e-208 GT and for the most part, nothing lights at all during locking and unlocking, especially when using handsfree (Keyless proximity). If I use the key instead of handsfree, sometimes the DRL's flash on unlocking (or indicators on locking) but mostly, nothing lights at all during daytime. This was video'd during daylight? correct?

When unlocking the car, the lights rear and DRLs flash as per in the video. The headlights haven’t come on today but the video was filmed 45 mins before sunset at 19:32 in April so was probably reasonably dark as it was on the North side of the house. The camera makes it look lighter than it was. Upon unlocking the interior lights front and rear do still come on, along with the strip lighting on the dash. I can see tonight if the headlights come on as well still but from memory they do. I do not have proximity locking/unlocking- just key operated.

Further to my earlier comment, the headlamps do come on when unlocking in the dark. The DRLs flash several times, a pause and the headlights and DRLs come on.

Let's say both chargers are in use. What if someone comes, park his car on the sidewalk next to the charger, press "stop charging" and start to charge his car instead of my? I'll come from McDonald's in 30 minutes to find out my car is not charged. This should be improved

There are improvements that can be made, I’m sure, but the most cars lock the cables into place whilst charging so whilst they may be able to stop the charge, they can’t use the cable. Also, many DC chargers need the same card you used to start charging to stop it as well.

Looking forward when we can modify the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) with customizable sound of our choice to be "unique". In Asian, such as Japan, they have JDM melody backup alarm tone that plays instrumental music or talk ("Warning! This vehcile is backing up") when you reverse 🚗🎶🔊

It may happen, though I would wonder how it would affect assistance dogs etc to know what sound should be identified for a vehicle if it is customised. - I’m no trainer so it may be easy, or not.

Traditionally, the backup alarm has a loud beeping sound, that can easily be found installed on truck, school bus, forklift, RV as well as van to warn pedestrian and animal when the vehicle is reversing. I am not a trainer either but I guess service dog are trained visually to avoid incoming objects aside from sound to protect their owner from potential danger.

Hi- it may vary between countries. At the moment, In the UK the configurable 3D cockpit which is in this video is available from the Allure Premium model upwards. The Active and Allure get a more analogue style drivers dash. In other countries it may differ.
