Really surprised we're still implementing automotive communication with copper. With copper you have to worry about decoupling, filters, termination, esd, etc. A single fiber between modules either daisy chained or using a pon architecture. Laser diodes are ubiquitous, even led optics could be used with polymer optical fiber.
@Alpine_flo920024 ай бұрын
With copper you can easily detect if the wire is broken. With fiber you need to keep a heartbeat to know if its working. Copper is just way easier to manufacture, install and repair
@TofuInc4 ай бұрын
@@Alpine_flo92002 Protocol works the same way regardless. I would argue fiber is easier in all aspects. Maybe not 10 years ago, but today definitely. Especially when we are talking feet instead of miles of fiber the tolerances can be pretty low. Too-less splice methods are available for nearly all types of fiber manufactured as well so repair is not an issue. In fact a fiber splice would arguably be quicker and more reliable than a soldered connection. Not to mention the network would only need a single fiber to bidirectional communication vs the 2 wire copper networks currently used.

That’s great, but it seems that “belkins” purchase whole ultra fast controller series right at factory. Because I see no publicly available ones in catalogs. What a benefit of using GaN when controllers are for 300kHz (I’ve found only one for 800kHz). Another question is about planar transformers. Where are they? Only in fashion boutiques .. or, sorry: at Apple’s facility. So, it’s enough to advertise just chargers

Very interesting! Two questions though: Why do they know how much power goes through their system (power train). Wouldnt they have to calculate that, too? And secondly: What about hall-effect-current sensors? They are also nearly lossless, arent they?

That's fascinating from a linguistic point of view. I do some stuff (only hobby projects, nothing commercial) using MIPS (as it was)... And we're going to have to start qualifying usage of the word "MIPS" (like I did just then) and start talking about MIPS (the ISA) and MIPS (the vendor)............... Oh, this CEO chappie has the answer "new-MIPS".

Nice little exclusive you got here! personally, I'm only interested in games/ simulation but this HMD still seems to have some potential. The whole generative AI thing is giving me strong negative vibes, like some kind of Crypto NFT dejavu/ flashback. I hope the industry doesn't spend too much time on something that might turn out to be just another tech trend in 2 years (not saying AI and Crypto are the same, but the bandwagon feels identical)
