AT this point I do not see why you'd want to buy an AMD gpu.
@GeekJohn9 сағат бұрын
I see the benefit of competition, and the results of lack of competition. All 3 brands (Nvidia, AMD and Intel) have something to offer. As a consumer in 2025 though, if I only had to look at the feature set I'd go for Nvidia, but there's always more to that story. Nvidia 5000 series is a paper launch, they are pushing for scalping to actually happen again so they can benefit from it (again! As was proven the last time), their new GPU's are burning (not joking look it up), and their "updated" power cables are still melting. And if you see as a consumer how they treated their customers with the RMA for their 4000 series, you'd be having second thoughts. AMD? Don't get me started... 90XX series is half "behinded" and they moved their launch back because they were planning for more "aggressive" pricing and were taken aback by the 5070 pricing of Nvidia while they already sold their stock to resellers and had to renegotiate... Intel is probably playing the nicest so far in my book, but their GPU's still need to stay a bit more in the oven, and their drivers also (although they've come a very long way). Unfortunately for us consumers, things are never that clear cut and it's just sad. That said the RDNA2 and RDNA3 GPU's perform extremely well in a lot of games, FSR3.1 has come a very long way and works with ALL GPU's and is open source, and Intel's XeSS is also universally available (unlike Nvidia that likes to close source everything and lock features for even their own cards to force you to buy a new one), FSR Frame Generation is preferred by many Nvidia users as well as in many cases it works better than DLSS FG, Ray Tracing performance in UE5 games using Lumen, or games utilizing DXR perform really REALLY well, but also keep in mind that the relevant games that use RTX are like what? 8? So those 8 games aside, both AMD and Intel perform superbly and especially AMD even outperforms most of the Nvidia cards in the same class in rasterization. Huge gripe of mine as a content creator though? AMD is like it's absent from the scene. CUDA is really cool and Intel also has an advantage over OpenCL in a lot of software. Even the OBS implementation/support is like non existent so yeah... Those are my 2 cents/rant I guess about the GPU scene as of now.

I've been running CP2077 via MO2 for a while now, 900 mods and counting (admittedly a fair amount of that is bulked up with lots of dressup mods, vehicles, new weapons, etc. :) ). I think the common advice to go manual is good at first because it helps you understand what you're doing when your'e modding the game, and if you've only got a few mods it's easy enough to handle, but as soon as you start going over about 50 mods it all gets too difficult to keep track of and MO2/Vortex is pretty much mandatory (I think Vortex is good too, but it has its own little quirks you have to know to use it properly, just as with MO2). One minor quibble, when I started using MO2 it was unusual in that contrary to best practice with Skyrim, etc., I was advised that you DON'T make a mod out of what's in Overwrite, IOW with CP2077, unusually, _you should just leave Overwrite alone._ This is because for some reason, some of the personalized tweaks that pop up in there won't be "read" if they're in a "normal" mod. But that might have changed, I bow to your obviously superior knowledge. That might also be because I have CET and Red4ext installed manually (rather than internaly in MO2 - again this goes back to times past when the internal method wasn't quite sorted out yet).
@GeekJohn3 күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! I don't think I have superior knowledge by any degree, I just got my answers from the MO2 Dev Discord in most of the things I communicated in this video 🤓 The main reason I searched deeper was that the "official guide" to modding CP2077 that MO2 links you to - the first time you launch it (actually shown in the video) - points users to install Root Builder and guides them through a complicated setup, and some other online resources pointed out that this step is not needed anymore. By directly asking the Dev team on their own Discord I just made sure that having the latest dev version of MO2 coupled with the latest version of the game plugin simplifies things a LOT, and Root Builder is not needed anymore. For already working setups, with Modders Recources plugins installed in the actual game directory things are different as those files will always take precedence over the "Virtualized Files/Folders" of MO2. And if everything works fine I'd follow the good ol' "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" moto 🤣

@@GeekJohn A good rule! I might transition to this method though, because with CET and Red4ext running "natively" one always loses one's CET keybnds if for one reason or another one fires up the game without mods (which one does have to do now and then to check the odd thing). I've fallen in love with the game all over again since I got my 4070 Super and new CPU - it really does look mind-bogglingly hyper-realistic at tijmes - and the gameplay is just solid and satisfying to jump into now and then, even if you;ve smelled all the roses story and quest wise.

amazing guide. thank you! just one question. how can i make MO2 work with archive conflict checker, since there's no actual archive mod folder anymore / or how do you deal with potential mod conflicts? cheers!
@GeekJohn3 күн бұрын
I haven't had the "pleasure" (😋?) of dealing with any kind of conflict yet in my setup, my advice for new modders in general would be: 1. Don't install mods in bulk! just DON'T, it's never worth it. Install mods 1 at a time, launch the game and load a save file making sure everything is working fine. Then continue to the next mod. This is a full proof method that will save you a ton of time and headaches down the road! (ask me how I know... 🤣). 2. Always read the mod authors description, or at least search in the description page for the words "Compatible, Compatibility etc." and "Conflict, Conflicts etc." and make sure you check for those in the dropdown menus of the requirements and other sections! 3. In MO2 you the lower a mod is place in your list, the higher priority it has in your list, so if there is something being overwritten it clearly colors the conflicting mods and in the details clearly states what files overwrite what. This is really helpful especially if we're talking about "Visual Mods" as you can move or even untick the files in a specific mod to achieve the results you want to go for when combining texture packs for example. For CP2077 specifically I do not think there are any archived mods as the game is not made with Bethesdas Creation Engine and the .bsa, .esp, .esm archives are a Bethesda thing, but in general, MO2 does have archive invalidation and just leaving it on the default settings is fine.

@@GeekJohn oh i see lol i also haven't run into any major mod conflicts but ive been raking my brain for the past 4 days trying to figure what causes these weird micro stutters every 5 seconds also the game feels a lot more choppy even at 110+ fps (50-60 real fps) when i got all my mods enabled. though, on a fresh install, it runs perfectly smooth even with full PT on, 4k texture reworks, DLSS set to quality and psycho crowd mod enabled, all at 1440p. yet if i proceed to install all my other 200+ mods. e.g. gameplay, cars, clothes, QOL, ect. something is apparently causing those micro stutters. i did manage to get the archive conflict checker working with MO2 and i'm in the process of installing one mod at a time like you said, but damn it is tedious, because i can't just run the game for a few seconds, close and proceed, but rather start the game, walk around for a couple minutes with a full system monitor overlay, checking for even the slightest lag and repeat that for every single mod. i spent like 2 hours on checking 40 mods alone..💀but i guess there really isn't a better way to troubleshoot this. thanks for the great setup guide and tips tho much appreciated <3

FYI I usually run the game in the RT+PT configuration of UltraPlus.

what about .archive files. When installing them through MO2 it shows directory is invalid. Any workaround for this other than manually installing them in game folder.
@gurugeorge3 күн бұрын
Archive files shouldn't be a problem, just check the file structure (either as you install - there's a functionality to create/delete folders at that point - or after you've installed just by shuffling things around in Explorer or via MO2's own interface - in that case just ignore the warning and install, then in left plane, on mod either Rclick "open in Explorer" or Rclick "Information"). File structure should be archive/pc/mod/the mod itself. Note that in case of archive priority conflicts, there's a mod on Nexus that you can install to run via MO2 called "Archive Conflict Checker Tool" that lets you check the order of archive mods for conflicts and rearrange the archive order via a modlist, if you don't want to use the traditional renaming method).

@@nishanthsuresh4166 Hey, I'll try to help but don't have the details of your setup so I'll generally give some good guidelines I use for my own modding setups. If updating from and older version of MO2 and there have been a lot of changes, it generally tends to break stuff, so I usually just start over. For example, this works for me while running the latest MO2 2.5.3dev2 build from their official Discord and the latest Cyberpunk 2077 game plugin as demonstrated in this particular video (so if you're using 2.5.2 Stable - or updating over it - things might not work as intended). If you don't mind giving more information and details, me or other experienced ppl might be able to help you more or at least point you in the right direction to find help, like what mods/plugins you're facing issues with and what specifically does not work.
