You can also make strawberry, banana chips. Dehydrated pineapple is like candy, so sweet. Raspberry and blueberry preserves are awesome and easy to make. Lordy , I’d have a field day. Such awesome hauls. I know you feed the chickens but dang… you guys eat a heathy lifestyle . Lots of dairy , fruits and veggies. I’m not much on snacks but it’s a great find. I’d be filling up the blessing boxes in my area.

Hon you need to get a dehydrator. They’re not expensive, they come in all price ranges and sizes. I save big time in fruits , vegetables. Turn grapes into raisins. I can make jerky and dog treats. I can make fruit roll ups ie: leathers. Yogurts from near expired milk. Cheese can be “waxed” they last a year or more and they age for more taste. I put the food in mason jars or vacuum pack for long term storage. I’m never without food. You can freeze vegetables if you Blanche.use a couple of shakes of fruit fresh and fruits can be frozen long term. So many ways to keep down waste and prepare for the future. My pantry is looking awesome.

Funny how you say it's rare to find Kiwi's over here in New Zealand most of our kiwi stock is sent overseas 99% all of the good crops and our own people get to buy all the garbage kiwis but if your fast enough you can stop on the side of the road in the bay of plenty and pick some or buy some from the road side stalls so it's super sad to see overseas countries throwing them away
