I'm bored so I guess this comment will just follow your conversation because I have a lot to say about this train wreck lol. Sorry in advance. 1:28 - Why didn't Sol just fly above the astroid belt? She literally can't go anywhere, we know the ship doesn't have a warp drive, and you can clearly see through it. 1:40 - Basil is not even a character at this point and is simply a plot device. Why does Basil do this? Is he a pacifist? He literally attacked Mae 2 episodes prior. Maybe he doesn't like killing? We don't actually know that Sol was trying to kill her (an EMP to deactivate the ship?) and the rest of the episode, including his motivation for coming to this planet which was allegedly to prove to the Jedi council that there were two of them, which is stupid in its own right because they literally had the data from the scans to prove that were two. But even if we ignore that and assume Basil wasn't trying to kill them, then why wouldn't that be explained? You can only force your audience to fill in so many blanks before it becomes ridiculous. 2:15 - Right on the money here, they don't explain shit. 4:10 - I think pretty much everyone knew that Qimir was Venestra's padawan because of the whip marks. But I guess this is technically right because it was the first confirmation we got. 5:10 - How tf can she fight the same as her sister? Being a clone or "the same person" can't erase their lived experiences or the 16 years of separate training that Mae got. This is the same issue as the Basil plot point above, you cant just write something and hope that your fans will back their way in to a logical outcome. 5:22 - The lightsaber fights in this show were cool. Didn't like the Mae and Osha fight. 6:00 - Two big issues here. Why doesn't Sol just fucking explain that he acted in self-defense? Like this whole guilt trip thing truly makes no sense. He did absolutely nothing wrong. "Your Mom turned into a demon smoke creature and started disintegrating your sister so I attacked her." Boom whole plot is done, how tf was he supposed to know that nooo it was actually a friendly black demon smoke mist... What??? Going back to Osha's new found abilities... Like how tf is she so strong with the force? Because she got angry? Is that literally all it takes to become an uber-powerful Sith lord? It's just the biggest edge lord in the galaxy? Lol. I heard Headland say in an interview that the Vergence makes people stronger with the force, which is likely what the defenders would say. But Mae, Sol, or Qimir didn't get stronger because they were there. Maybe its only the twins... But then AGAIN we go back to the point that you're requiring your audience to fill in the blanks for you. 6:20 - Bleeding the crystal felt underwhelming to me. I would like some explanation as to why Anakins lightsaber didn't bleed after killing the Tuskans in Episode 2 or the attack on the Jedi temple in Episode 3. I think it would have been cooler in a better show, but at this point I couldn't find myself to care about Sol or the twins because every decision that led them here was soooo poorly written. 6:50 - Why didn't Mae just go with them 😭😭😭 Literally what is the justification? It's emblematic of a bigger issue with the show (particularly episodes 7 and 8, but really the whole show). Characters just do things because the plot demands it of them. They needed Mae to end up with the Jedi, so Osha (once again) flips her motivation and makes this decision. I've heard defenders parrot the rule of two as an explanation, but why wouldn't he just wipe her memory somewhere else far away from the jedi? From the character's perspective, they have no reason to believe that the jedi will cover it up (because the cover-up makes no sense) so the logical assumption there is that they're sentencing her sister to death or life in prison for the murder of (at least) two jedi. They're not going to forgive her because she can't remember lol. 7:30 - I HATE this weird tumblr romance they tried to force with Qimir and Osha. Lets think back to episode 5. Osha is knocked unconscious and taken across the galaxy for an indeterminate amount of time. But she was knocked out for this entire time, which means upon waking the first thing that she would remember would be THIS MAN MURDERING HER CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND AND HER (implied) LOVE INTEREST. But then she sees him naked and all is forgiven? What twisted shit is this? I know people like to shit on the director for being a former assistant for HW, but this is some really weird Hollywood shit. 10:10 - I have disagreed with people who have complained about the show being lore-breaking. There are certain elements that seem inconsistent with what we've told, but nothing I thought couldn't be explained later. That is until Yoda showed up. Whaaaaat the fuck man. So he's either complicit with the cover-up or not nearly as powerful as we had thought because he can't sense ANYTHING that's going on. The rest of this show I could easily tuck away and forget about, but this kind of blew it for me. Without this, it would be fairly easy to justify his ignorance. Maybe he was on an important mission far away while this was happening. But now we're left with incompetence or criminality, and neither are what you would associate with Yoda. 11:00 - Plauigeis is a good example of how many of the parts of this show that were cool were written by someone else in something else (like all of the legends stuff). You guys constantly forgetting characters' names after 8 episodes is a pretty good example 😉. Also not sure where Darth Bane came from, he's waaaay back I'm pretty sure. 12:21 - I don't think either of them is Tenebrous. But Qimir does say he left the jedi order "a long time ago" so maybe he's older than he seems (making this relationship even creepier). Edit*** I just went to Wookipedia and they've already updated the Plagueis picture to the one from the show lol 15:39 - I liked the idea of "A jedi doesn't draw her weapon unless she means to kill" and I'm fine with it going against what happens in the future (a benefit of it being a prequel). I think it gives credence to the martial arts style force fighting that I agree was really interesting (if they do a season 2, the fight choreographers are the only staff that should be kept), but it killed me when in the very same episode, Yord uses his lightsaber as a fucking flashlight. This show gets a 2/10 from me overall. It's not zero because it's a functioning show with a beginning middle and end, and the only reason it's not a 1 is that it had pockets of bright spots that ultimately led nowhere, but provided a modicum of enjoyment, like the lightsaber battles. Other than that, Nothing in this show gripped me. The acting was poor outside of Sol and Qimir. The "mystery" made no sense. The cover-up made no sense. The senator (brilliant actor btw, loved his small role) was worried that the Jedi were a hypocritical power-hungry group that had too much unchecked power. Good premise for a conflict, but then why is Venestras solution to pin the murder of countless Jedi on a powerful and well-respected Jedi (who would have an alibi for the first two murders) who went crazy with grief after "murdering" a village? Wouldn't this prove exactly what the Senate was concerned about? That the Jedi can be corrupted and thus need more oversight? Instead of the truth which was that there was a crazy super powerful Sith lord out there murdering people and thus proving that the they need the Jedi to help protect them against threats like that? Also, the justification for lying to Osha was to protect her feelings... You don't think telling her that her twin sister tried to kill her and her entire family is worse than the truth? That the jedi thought there was some cult activity and that the children were going to be sacrificed was a good reason to investigate the witches? They literally possess Torbin almost as soon as they walk through the door. IMO they would have been justified right there, but showed actual restraint for the only time in the show. Welp that's what I have to say about that lol. Good video! I like your guys stuff. I'm not sure if it's just this one, but the audio seemed super quiet for me.

After the original owner of the Dark Saber died, the sword was left with the Jedi and was stolen. I believe the whole story about defeating the previous owner of the weapon doesn't exist, but just "honor" amongst warriors. There were many hints mentioning that it is more than physical strength/skills behind the sword, but the mental state of the wielder (or focus). Even the Armorer of the Watch, was able to lift the sword. Mando is on a journey not just for redemption, but possibly reveal his destiny towards his people. Can't wait to see the next episode. 👍
