i really love dont know why people are hating on kikyo. its like her love and passion got reincarnated in kagome that will fulfill her wishes. and for the people saying that kikyo is inuyasha greatest love yess it might be true cuz first love is not easy to get over it and yess kikyo loveed inuyasha so much but she wanted a human version of him and inuyasha was willing to use the sacred jewel for her ignoring his true self and identity . on the other hand kagome loved inuyasha the way his is the whole package and didnt try to change him she loved him as a half demon. thats why for me kagome and inuyasha bond is stronger its like kikyo soul learned from her faults before dying and corrects that in her reincarnated self (kagome)

This still had to be the saddest character death for me ever. Especially since I've loved her character from the beginning... It really broke my heart to watch this scene and still does. Truly one of the greatest anime characters... Sadly also one of the most misunderstood and hated :/

Inuyasha and kikyo are the real understanding to each other even if human or demon or halfdemon. This is why the Buddhists monks please don't hurt innocent demons and i know Buddhists monks are all blessed with spiritual powers please use it on evil demons but not good ones. Even humans have bandits, can you guys see the difference not only demons even some humans are bad. If humans and demons are become friends and lovers then the world will be in peace and love not as the evil Buddhist monk or Naraku. Naraku is worthless tyrant seeking power for selfish gain that made him worthless.

Even after all these years this still hits me like a truck full speed.

Everyone in Inuyasha have flawed personalities in the beginning but all have grow and become better or worse depending on their character development arc as the story near its end. People forgot about this and remember kikyo jealousy and rage in the early episodes when she was resurrected. In life she lived a repressed life. When resurrected she went through a brief period of liberation both in good and bad directions,in end time she came to terms with her fate and become good nature again. She is a human like everyone else. The fans understand this. The haters doesnt.

I'm torn between watching this anime or not. Mostly because in the beginning everyone has twisted annoying personalities and bc ik I'll cry a lot. On another note, people can grow to love more than one person. For every one of you who has dated before here in the comments, you never truly forget or stop caring 100% for those people. Someday you just find someone who is the right person for you, with whom life will allow you to stay with. Inuyasha loved Kikyo but the timing wasn't right. Life had other plans for them. So later came Kagome and Inuyasha fell for her too. Our heart is not restricted to love just one person. Think about family, friends. Different types of love, they come and go, but that's how it is. Everything about life is temporary and some people are luckier than others. Doesn't matter who you like more, Inu loved them both. Two different phases of life.

Her death is the fairest thing that happened in the series no one can deny that kagome loved inuyasha more than kikyo she accepted him with all his imperfections even when he's a half demon. kikyo was selfish when she decided to interupt his life again though she knew her certain death. she also agreed to his decision to become human meanwhile kagome loved him as he was and sacrificed everything dear to her Just to be with him

Kagome‘s „atatakai“ gets me every time.

I always imagine Kikyo being portrayed by Eva Green or Katie McGrath if there's ever a movie of this.

I think they will still be a powerful couple even Inuyasha became a human because Kikyo still have the powers , the only thing will be gone is the responsibility of guarding the jewel. Inuysha can be a demon hunter in that era too and their friends will be the grand parents of Miroku, Sango and Shippo. Hahah kind funny and cute route

Inuyasha and kikyo are the best lovers in this story because she's beautiful and respectful person but kagome always kiddish, no matter the story ends the woman he truly loves is kikyo.
