3:07:27 when Alex told that guy that he wasn't part of the community and he should just go away is crazy because Alex wasn't even part of the community. Dude was just a chatty guy who enjoyed rambling to viewers during Covid. As soon as the pandemic passed, Alex didn't even stream anymore. 3:08:23 was really weird too. That long "sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" sound was crazy.

Mike Dean has got a vibe that he's like from some other place and not America, but he's from Texas which is probably the most America you can get

I’m crazy late to this video and as a brand new engineer I’ve gotten a lot of gems in this video and trying to recreate the routing (digitally ofc). I agree to some degree with the live he can’t talk but if he edited this KZbin and narrated what he was doing would of been great but for now just try to pay as much attention as possible to understand what he’s doing. Great video

Brother hold on. check out his credits and please tell me what mixes off songs or albums you didnt like that you've actually heard on that list. His mixes for Travis are legendary, some of the mixing decisions he made on utopia I personally felt were exemplary, like THANK GOD, dude listen how one layer just melts behind the next sound as the song progresses, the sound selections were all on point. Everything sounds clear, he manages both the separation of the sounds yet commands so much presence from all of them. and it all makes so much sense in the context of the production. Have you listened to the clarity and absolute anomaly of spatial aptitude the man had on highest in the room? Jaw dropping. Feel free to not like the compositions or style of the song itself, as people are generally picky with songs they'll entertain, but the mixes themselves cannot be denied of their glory. I've chased mixes like this into all hours of the night myself over the years and referenced his tracks and it's simply astonishing what he manages to accomplish in his mixes.

@@TheDonFabio what you like about that song has more to do with production than mixing. 90% of it is mixing.
@Notmuchherereallytbh10 күн бұрын
I agree, he just happens to be in the production rooms so has been able to finesse mixes early in his career which led to the artists just going with it. an engineer won't make much of a difference from an Artist who's music is already greatly written and produced

I wish Mike Dean did Gainstation through ANY other plug-in dev EXCEPT AA..Their plugs are insanely overrated and their coding is..beyond atrocious. He should make a Mike Dean mix bundle with like ten plugs. But do it with a solid company. Obviously UAD is insane quality but not accessible to everyone. So maybe Waves, Arturia, or Softube. Idk why more producers don't have their own plug-ins. I assume they have their formulas and tricks they don't wanna expose but it'd be dope. Just seeing his screen and seeing what plug-ins he uses and goes for first is helpful. I love watching producers and their screens. It's actually rare.
