Them things look nice. A lot of times some of these older smoke alarms tend to be yellowed out as heck but not these. Keep up the good work my man.😊

I’ve seen a video from elivator man 16s sa67d detector that has the clear test button yours has the whitish tan test button. Also another fun fact this is the early version of the first alert sa67b if I’m not mistaken.

Gateway Scientific and Southwest Laboratories were actually _not_ the same company. Just because they were both based in Costa Mesa doesn't mean they're the same. Addresses and NRC license numbers are different. I have seen units under both companies each with manufacture dates of 1984 and 1985 during the same times. I believe Gateway and Nalcor were the same company because they had the same NRC license number, so Gateway may have evolved into Nalcor and basically used their own components and tried to copy Southwest's designs. They are very similar looking to the Probe units. And like I said Southwest was probably bought out by Universal in the 90s due to the NRC license number on the SS-750 being Universal's current number.

Pretty cool that sealed lithium smoke alarms existed that long ago. First alert is quite an innovator.
@Undercoverelevator212-s2nАй бұрын
I have a theory: Southwest Laboratories might have been bought out by Universal Security Instruments. I say that because their model SS-750 does look like a Probe unit, however due to its newer components its nuclear license number is different. This different number is the one USI uses today.

I think it’s pretty interesting how you had a bunch of fixations when you were a kid. I remember when I was young I used to be really scared of smoke alarms just like you did when those 1839ACI’s in your grandmothers house used to go off. The ones in my house used to go off all the time too at night many years ago and it used to make it to where I couldn’t sleep. But except mine were BRK 4120B’s. I still have them upstairs but downstairs I put new ones. But I don’t really like smoke alarms anymore as they still go off on me in the middle of the night. And the last time they went off on me was last week. I had a fixation when I was young and that Fixation was elevators. And I still love elevators to this day. My Bestie likes elevators too just like I do so that’s what he and I do on our spare time. I’ve been busy too because I’m starting college and I’m involved in this ministry at the college so I haven’t been uploading as much recently. But I will try and start uploading again whenever I can. Since you thought ceiling fans were cool I think you might like the ones in my house because one day I was getting light fixtures in the bedrooms replaced with ceiling fans because I hated those lights. And apparently the guy that I had do it had an interest in fans like you do. So of course he sold me a couple old ones that he had stored at his place. I don’t really have an interest in fans but the only reason why I have them is because that electrician was pretty selective on what he wanted to put in for me.

Definitely the smoke alarm of the year for most people that got these. It’s a massive shame that NLind’s FXC-1 got lost during shipping. Whatever happened to that especially how much he deserved it is gonna be long gone.

That’s an interesting fact I did not know, probably from my nonexistent education on Gateway Scientific alarms and going by the fact on how hard it is to get Gateway and Probe units. A lot of mine from those were by a few months of buy in my individual Probe units and my 4202.
