What would you say for vessel name if you're in an unregistered vessel, i.e. a canoe, rowboat, or small sailboat?

Thank you for this presentation. Question: Is lat/long position always given in degrees, minutes, decimal minutes? Is decimal degrees ever used? Or degrees, minutes, seconds?

In poor visibility or rough seas add the decibel minutes but in conditions of good visibility you can leave off the decibel minutes. The reason is that decibel minutes represent a fraction of a nautical mile so in good visibility leaving out a fraction of a nautical mile shouldn’t make any difference in finding you. But again, if you are in a life raft or kayak which is more challenging to see, include the decibel minutes.

RIC-13 was superseded by RBR-2 in 2007. You may want to update that reference.
