It really does fill my heart with grief that they never received the recognition they deserved and made it big, hell even now they're still severely underrated. From the drumming to the bass, to the guitar and to Craig's powerful voice, Lowlife had it all. Rest in Peace Craig.

Жаль, что так мало видео с этой замечательной шотландской группой: сильный вокал, прекрасные мелодии - настоящая жемчужина пост-панка.

It saddens me to know that Lowlife is the most unfairly underrated band in post-punk. Probably if they had been signed to a better label they would have become as successful as Echo & the Bunnymen. This song in particular is my favorite, because it evokes everything I have ever felt.

Liquid forest of doves Where we can slip away Will we go Will we go Sunlight takes us there Dandelion daydream I'm taking on the will to survive Green light on the window I'm taking all the flowers to save her Sunlight in the forest of doves Where we can steal the time Will we go Will we go Taking all your kisses can we sail Vivid and yellow I'm turning all the pages to cry Tree lined, oh streets so haunted Oh we can be so hollow inside So hollow, so hollow, so hollow inside Oh we're so happy I'm taking all the flowers to save her life Living in the forest of doves Where we can slip away Will we go Will we go Sunlight takes us there Liquid and moving I'm turning all the pages to cray Tree lined, oh streets so haunted Oh we can be so hollow inside We're so happy And we can be so hollow inside

Does anyone knows if there are any full livesets recorded? Found very few videos on YT.

I don't believe so. The only live recordings I have found are of 'Ramafied' and 'Colours Blue', of which are both uploaded on this channel. In the LTM Recordings' Lowlife biography, it is stated they played a set for this FSD program, though it is unknown whether that set was comprised of just these two songs. In the same biography, it is mentioned that as their career went on they began to play less and less live shows to promote their albums, so there is low probability that any recordings of live shows were made. There is also a music video that was produced for one of their singles, 'Hollow Gut', which can be found on Vimeo. I am not 100% sure of its legitimacy as it does contain footage used for the 'Colours Blue' FSD set, though this could just be that FSD used footage from that music video, which would make sense considering the 'Vain Delights' EP was released a year prior to their album 'Diminuendo'.

Was listening to another band on KZbin music when Permanent Sleep started playing. Never heard of these guys but boy am I hooked. His voice is enchanting and I love you can hear his accent through his lyrics. Such a shame there's not much footage of them!

Grangemouth in Scotland gave us two excellent and unique voices, Liz Fraser and Craig Lorentson. And Will Heggie created amazing huge basslines on both bands, Cocteau Twins, then Lowlife.

So morose yet melodious We gather round to receive An ambidexterous reasoning From which we clearly We clearly conceive This problems but a puzzling question Of length and width Of breadth and depth Which we hope will mellow and whither So why should i I beg to differ A loveless lullaby of menial worth To which we have We have to compare Have i become a heavy cargo For selfindulgence to bear I see you ripen in your response I see you change your trick of style So what can i I now comprise I see no way to reconcile

Amazing these werent superstars but sadly their early music got lost in the Acid House/Rave craze of late 80s-early 90s England. Then when that finished Brit Pop took over. RIP Craig, what a voice...
