I'm currently reading Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati. Its a retelling of Clytemnestra from the Odyssey by Homer. She is famous for being Helen of Troy's sister and (infamous) for killing her husband. I highly recommend reading it. She plays many roles and it follows her from her teen years to her adulthood and she embodies female rage. I hope you enjoy it

I’m Greek so im always on edge with retellings. I recently read one again and it wasn’t great, nor have others been that I’ve read. I think the original female characters did indeed embody female rage, but I find a lot of book retellings these days really dumb it down, make them seem either too soft or too miserable. The realism is female rage is a mixture of all emotions at once

@@miacaven i understand that. I've only recently started reading Greek classics and retellings and there are definitely some that aren't honest or holistic in their portrayal. I've noticed that theres a few differing accounts of Clytemnestra and look forward to seeing what you think of this portrayal

This is a fantasy series so it might not be everyone’s taste, but Blackthorn from the Blackthorn and Grim series by Juliet Marillier is the best example of female rage I’ve read so far (in that genre)!

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately as well. I feel like content is so far removed from reality these days to the point where “affordable” glow up videos are stuff only very few people can afford. I feel I’ve changed as a person as well and my life has changed as well and I feel like I should change my feed to reflect that as well
