Good afternoon, I've watched your videos since the BF3 days and tutorials on smoking stairs in Metro. I don't want to come off as someone who just popped in to comment on your videos. I see where you are coming from and respect your industry expertise. I have to disagree when looking at the bigger picture, and from an economics standpoint. I won't post a long KZbin post, but I encourage you to look into the economic policy of Alexander Hamilton, first treasurer of the U.S.A. and our great president William McKinley. They encourage tariffs and under their economic guidance America and American manufacturing reached new highs. Labor can have a high value when we don't artificially suppress it.

Economic consultant with a Masters in an applicable field. Unfortunately a very incorrect and misinformed video. Tariffs will save American Industry and jobs. The retaliatory soybean tariff example was unfortunate, but retaliatory tariffs are basically a non-factor. The US is in a dominant position over every other country in the world. No country can play the game as long as the US and will fold preemptively. Some single gamer’s anecdote should be taken lightly.
@rivalxfactorАй бұрын
If anyone is interested on how full of crap Airgasm is you can read up here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_tariffs The impact was massive. Solar cell imports in the US rebounded within 2 months. Yep, 2 months, while the entire Soybean market tanked, is still cooked and cost the US taxpayer 18b to date. Important to note literal experts disagree with this random guy including major investment firms and banks. You pick the item, you can find a CEO, investment analyst or expert speaking on it. Here is steel for example which also was hurt in the Trump Tariff war a few years back. www.ttnews.com/articles/trump-tariffs-steel-us . The CEO of Walmart has spoken out multiple times that prices will climb drastically depending on how bad the tariff wars get.
@thedankestdungeon8091Ай бұрын
American industry and jobs would require companies actually paying enough, which they won't do. Trump is going to destroy the economy and this country, which is already a dogshit place to live mind you. You also don't seem to be taking into account the fact that our gov. is now run by corporate goons, nazis and people who have severe brain damage.
@BenB-yy6bxАй бұрын
@@rivalxfactorImagine quoting Wikipedia and arguing about China and Walmart in the same comment… China is the common denominator in ALL of this. Please stick to gaming or create an “I hate Trump” video so we can swiftly unfollow. Speaking of “telling the truth”. Also… you can keep the avocados; when they become overpriced, economies won't buy them, driving the demand down. Who gets hurt when avocados don't move from Walmart?
@rivalxfactorАй бұрын
@@BenB-yy6bx Your lack of education is showing as well as your ability to comprehend what was covered in the videos. Are restaurants going to close their doors when they cannot get avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers and onions? I used Avocados and tomatoes as an example, to make it easier. We import billions upon billions of pounds of produce a year including fruit. ALL of it in the tune of 30-80% of all product a year outside of four crops such as soybeans, wheat, corn and potatoes which are STILL imported. Losing an absolutely clueless viewer is of no consequence, ever. FYI every since agricultural group known to man kind in the USA has released their guidance and thought process on this over the last few weeks. They all call this to be potentially devastating to their respective markets, the farmers, their staff, and financial well being of all involved if tariffs hit let alone a trade war. Surely they know more than you, right?
@BenB-yy6bxАй бұрын
@@rivalxfactor Lack of education? Dear Soyboy, I'm not disputing that the USDA may feel pressure and disagree with tariffs. They impose a high cost on the enterprise. We could compare transcripts if you like. However, like any liberal “influencer,” you attempt to insult as a mechanism for defense for your underlying message. Cool backward hat, by the way; my kids wear it the same way. Who is “they” in the title of this video? Tariffs are a treatment to bargain and leverage imports and exports between countries and force companies to be mindful of the impacts of their product selection. You mention the USDA, which is a GOVERNMENTAL agency and doesn't represent the views or opinions of ANY farmer in the US. 😂 Also, name me one farmer you know that went bankrupt. Very surprised you didn't do this video with a mask on. Love your fear mongering, though. Keep it up!

While i do see what your saying i do have to point to the fact you really dont bother to say anything positive here about tariffs when there can be good that happens from them. Not saying i disagree with what you say cuz your not wrong about the negatives in the video. Cuz what you describe here is what i worry will happen but its not a gurentee cuz a tariff on certain things can be productive. It truly really depends on how the other country reacts to the tariff.
@rivalxfactorАй бұрын
Targeted and specific tariffs can work. Such as America already has a good chunk of production of a sector, has the natural resources to feed it, and want to protect and grow it. Yes, those can work. These are blanket tariffs and threats of trade wars. We all lose in those.
@monshuracingАй бұрын
As someone in the industry myself. The stress thats involved in the market movement is overwhelming. I also agree that the tariff and trade wars are sadly the same as any other war. The layman pays the price not the person making the decision.

We’re dealing with similar things at the moment in Australia. For instance, wholesale price on a 5kg box of limes, normally $30-$40 for a case, 2 months ago they jumped to $150 a box…. Hard for a bar to not have lime for cocktails or even a vodka lime soda. Crazy times…!!!

Good video. I strongly disagree with blanket tariffs, but I think currated tariffs could do more good than harm if done right. I also think there are many other things going on across the world but also in America that are hurting farmers more than tariffs, such as tightening regulations and increased corporate control of farmland and farm equipment, utilities, supplies, and seeds. Are there not any benefits to tariffs on produce items that you failed to mention? I feel that would have made for a stronger video. Like here’s what’s good and what’s bad but ultimately it’s more bad because of X, Y, and Z. Thanks for your insight all the same. Hoping the next battlefield isn’t a piece of crap. If you make another video like this I think it would be better if it was longer and had more details and perspectives from both sides.

At the end of the day, if the consumer is paying for it, how it is different than taxes? The other side wanted to raise taxes... Also, if Mexico and Canada fixed their border policies, this wouldn't be a problem, right? Trump made it very clear. Stop the illegal migration, stop the flow of drugs - and no tariffs. Perhaps we (the public) should demand better from our government, and do something about border security...oh wait, we did.

@rivalxfactor I'm not American myself and i tell you American products get taxed heavily everywhere, but Asian, European, Mexican, Canadian products get no taxes in USA. The American dairy products for example get 100% - 200% tax rate in Canada but the Canadian diary get 0 tax in USA. it's unfair and the world is watching and can't believe why USA allow this to happen to them. The moment you tax them back they will make a deal with you, fair taxes both ways.
