It is quite odd that they always delivered the concept Display that Marceline and Princess bubblegum have always apparently been *"Gay"* but throughout the actual children's cartoon they've interacted with both male and female characters alike even as so far as actually dating the opposite sex...... Marceline quite literally having a boyfriend in her past before breaking up with him. Princess bubblegum even went on a date with Finn, hell, Marceline also dated Finn. I always liked to think the idea that the characters were intended to be Bi-sexual more than homosexual or openly ideal when it comes to sexual orientation. That way both boys and girls of young age wood feel more welcomed by the characters even if there was a relationship between them already. 🤔
