This is stunning! I’m trying to get into junk journalling, I have boxes full of sentimental things I’ve collected over the years. The problem is that I have no idea where to start, it’s overwhelming! Any tips you could share on getting started would be amazing! Thank you for the inspiration 😊🖤

Hi, so glad i came upon your tutorial! I am starting a rather ambitious altered book project with a book that measures 18 in tall, 12 wide and the spine is currently about 1.75 inches. The text block will remain but will be thinned out. Do you think this method of widening the spine can somehow be used without removing text block? With such a tall book? I suppose I would be cutting the book boards away from the spine, but the spine would still be attached to text block... (sorry for my rather clumsy attempt to explain this, lol) thank you for any thoughts you might have! <3

I want to make a similar journal for my December memory keeping this year so this is perfect. I'm watching it through once just to get the overall idea of it and then I will have to go back and watch it again step by step. I'm sorry about the fires :( We are having a terrible drought here in NH and there have been lots of wildfires here too (not as big as yours of course) but it does make the air quality awful.

@@loiscassels8966 did you mean my math on my signatures? If so, I had 8 signatures and started with I think 5 pages per signature = 40. 😊 In the end I added a few more pages per sig so the math would have changed then also.

You can use elastic to hold your signatures in the cover like a travelers notebook. 😊

I've made soft covers and used an elastic binding to hold the loose folded pages. You could also do a hinged binding journal. Then after the journal is made glue the felt+fabric around the outside folding it onto the front/back pages.
