There is a guy on KZbin from Texas (Korosumyself) who gets Japanese cars from scrapyards and rebuilds them with parts from scrapyards. I'd be curious to see what you come up with in the UK using VWs.

I suggest get another project car to refresh. Then later down the line swap the engine or drive train on one of the projects. That way you can enjoy them and then decide which needs a swap

Nice project, good to see the MK2 getting some attention. Your interior work is involved yet subtle, there's a definite retro vibe to the material choice yet still brings an updated, not modern finish. Unfortunately the same can't be said for those Chinesium headlights that clash with the other exterior period correct additions. Overall, impressive work....and I love your tissue dust mask nostril plugs.

Love the dash. Makes me want a tweed interior for my mk4. I agree with some of the other comments I'd do a black steering wheel for a bit of contrast.

Love it mate! Dash really ties everything together. Whilst starting another project sounds tempting, surely doing something with the engine is the next step. Looking forward to what comes next either way 👍

Nice easy 16v on carbs/ITB’s would be very nice in that. Swapped out my 1.6 for a 16v on twin 45’s in 2020 and it was great fun and sounded great. Done for just over £1000 and in a week.

Great content, am glad you did the heater matrix job, it’s horrible but definitely worth it on dash removal 👍🏼 engine swap, I’d look for bargains around, plenty out there, scrapyard challenge would be EPIC 😊 As for the dash, having seen it in the flesh it’s a work of art, the level of work that’s gone into that is crazy Well done 👏🏼 🫶🏻

Hi Lewis, I love a scrap yard mooch and the idea of a scrap yard challenge. I think you could really get a following breathing life into a forgotten oldie. The only thing i would say and please take this as constructive and not a b1tch please can you work on your camera skills. You do awesome cinematics and static camera shots, but the hand-held stuff is making me a bit motion sick and over familiar with looking up your nose. I only say this because I want you to do well.

A vr5 swap would suit the car nicely imo. Not a big fan of the dash but can appreciate the work that's gone into the car. Looking forward to your next steps.

I would also add led lights into the bumper indicators. Now the bumper indicators fade in and out when blinking, however the indicators in the headlights are immediately on/off and to me this makes it look they don't lighr up together. I like the style of these headlights tho!

Personally I have my mk3 project/show car that I’m never gunna sell because of the sentimental value and resto work I’ve done , and that the car is associated with me. I would love to get another project and cycle through other cars, but I’ll always have the mk3 that I’ll never sell. Maybe keep the mk2 as the show car and get another project idk it’s up to you

Really nice car. What's missing here apart from an engine swap is some wind deflectors. I think it would complete the sick look of the car with the LED front ligts, the body kit and the wheels

The dash looks amazing, me personally I would do a black steering wheel just for a bit of contrast and maybe a grey racing line/ centre line on the wheel

I would say get another project and then collect stuff to do an engine swap for the mk2 meanwhile and just do it in the future. I would love to see a passat b3 or b4 :P
