Still an amazing machine. Only thing I could say extra is that it does not run cellulose rods on this particular machine. Also use code: stone25 with them for a discount.

I'm confused,it says it's a multi process machine but you say you can hook up your tig rig to it? It doesn't tig?Nice welding job!

I think it could be compared with miller 210 or 211 the duty cycle is better and has tig and stick even miller mts can't weld 1/2 inch for $1000 better than miller

I have the pw tig 225 I love it, does the MiG 285 run 6010? I can run it just not as well as one that’s made for it, also have you tried any dual shield with it?

In the specifications it says it cannot run 6010/cellulose sadly

I ran a 6011 on it the other day did just fine. Haven’t tried FCAW yet.

Don't buy a multi process machine if your primary function is going to be stick welding buy a dedicated stick machine with AC/DC reverse pollarity capabilities that is capable of 250 amps DC it will serve you better if stick is your main focus, my MIG machine is an Esab Rebel 285, my dedicated stick machine is a Lincoln Idealarc 250, a dedicated stick machine like that gives you far more stick capabilities and as a bonus true AC high frequency TIG (foot pedal or multiple variations of pulsed TIG) and DC tig with reverse pollarity ability (rarely ever used but is a possibility ) with the right accesories.

Ok buddy, get started, you got videos to make. You don't need fancy cameras or microphones. Keep ir simple and cover all your projects. Make sure you use that machine in most of them. One video a week will be good ,more is better. Stay away from politics and keep the language clean so the little ones can be inspired. Great video. Remember, a lot of your viewers will be those that are new , old and even disabled. We'll be watching.
