This is not the premiere… it was at Guilford College… I played electric bass and Bill Kanengiser played the lead part… it was commissioned for Bill

Woah this is really cool! With the cello as lead there’s not as many difficult… almost violent sounding tremolos on guitar. Bill likes to dampen his sound or use staples in this suite to imitate the Kora, so, he has a more staccato/precise arrangements than this. The cello part a mix of his melody parts and the parts I played on electric bass that had long sustain. Great ensemble, great conductor, great soloist and the best composer ☺️

The premiere was actually with Bill Kanengiser at Guilford College. I love the use of a cello… I did this with a guitar orchestra so I had to use an electric bass… but I think a contrabass classical guitar would kill it for your group…Same with a requinto! Who’s playing the lead part? It’s executed about as well as I’ve ever heard bill play it! Phenomenal!

Did you perform the cello arrangement? If so what’s your arrangement of guitars… I don’t see a requinto or contrabass in use but it’s so full!

Ah...that was not only beautiful but also quite soothing. Kudos to the composer and the players. I love seeing/hearing anything from my alma mater, IU School of Music!
