What a terrific representation of this cult character, I seen the new film which was very violent indeed😯, couldn’t stop thinking of gene Simmons from kiss and waiting for Eric Draven to stick his tongue out!. . I appreciate the figure has it’s flaws and ofcourse if Neca were to redo it I am sure they could improve it a lot, however as with many figures I think you need to take it in the round and I have to say he is a figure I would find a space for in my own collection 😀. I used to have this and the 18” Bruce Lee. The leg broke on my Bruce after trying to pose him, and I sold them together as is. I just couldn’t separate them, father and son, even if they were just plastic sculpts. Nice review! Makes me want to find another one.

I animated my quarter scale big chap, and he was quite the pain, but it did turn out pretty good, might have to look this one up to do some animation with since these toy animations seem to be taking off

Sorry I am a wee bit late with my comments , first chance I have had to watch the video on this brilliantly impressive figure and pod. Thanks for the background on this guy , I will need to hold my hand up and say I am not familiar with him. It gives me the opportunity to judge the piece purely on aesthetics and functions. I really do like this a lot I think lit up with all the bells and whistles it displays so well🔥🤩. Really appreciate that you track down and collect these lesser known niche pieces or I would have missed out on so many impressive pieces you have in your collection. I like the original one but getting the legs to attach was a nightmare. I really love this one though! If I were too nitpick I’d say the inner jaw is too dark, it should be much lighter but that’s only a very minor gripe. I love it. Does it come with a stand? A great video.

Thanks for the very detail breakdown! Do you feel like the base limits poseability? I want to recreate all his poses from the fight with Hector but the base looks too small for that. I don't know if I'll ever display him without the helmet, so I'm considering the non deluxe version (which is around £100 cheaper but doesn't come with the base or rooted hair sculpt) I know you said you don't have the older Achilles figure but have you seen in person photos? The paint on this newer one is better than in the promotional photos but not 100% screen accurate imo

Never been a fan of neca figures, purely because of the quality issues. As a result i ended up getting the mezco one:12 collective alien and predator. The alien is excellent but the predator needed extensive repainting to make it screen accurate. I know the mezco range are a lot more expensive for a small figure however i think its worth it because of the quality of the mezco figures. Terrific little figure and a great addition to anyones collection I think, amazing the range of scales this guy is available in having also seen reviews of him in a massive 1/3 scale by prime one🔥🤩. This and predator are for me the 2 best imagined creatures in the realm of sci-fi and horror and have stood the test of time now over 4 decades which is a scary thought in itself😂. Not enough articulation for me I would wana dynamic pose it too much money for it to be stood on a shelf stiff as a board disappointing I do wish they would do a Queen alien from aliens though.

The 'EGGcessories' look great! so does the figure! i might try to get ahold of him in the future! EDIT: Also I didn't know they removed the eyes for the movie! I thought he had them! I prefer them honestly

It all needs another black wash. The prop is blue and black, but the blue is dulled. As for the gold, it's odd, but all the gold on the figure is on the prop. Again, it needs to be dulled down as well.

I’m super excited to get my timed edition hopefully next week. Dhl messed up my first shipment before it left China, so I got another one sent out and it’s in transit. While there are cons to the figure from what I’m seeing, $265 USD is a fair price to pay considering all the alternatives are customs that cost anywhere from $1k to over $3k I’ve seen. Idk I’m sure I’ll love the figure. Thanks for the review!

Great figure that’s deserving of it’s elite status, I must admit I really don’t worry about limitless articulation, once I find a pose I like which is never too extreme I am happy to leave it alone thereafter. As you say I much prefer accuracy and presence in a piece and this figure has it in spades. Seen the Romulus film twice and I like it a lot , love the Easter egg nods to previous films, if you know you know, will certainly be buying it for my own collection on 4k when released in a few months which for me is always the test of my feelings for a movie. I wished they could have improved a lot around the issues of this design to make it more sturdy. The paint and details are great. As NECA is bigger than standard 1:12 this may be 1:10 in actual.

If you push the smaller jaw more out, it will stick out even more and lock into place. You have to press it a bit firmly. But you are right, leave it like that for awhile and the soft rubber will wear out. Happened to mine. Thanks for the review, I love mine and still looks great!

Great review of this older figure. I own the avp alien warrior brown version and bought it purely because of articulation. Hopefully hot toys produce a new alien after announcing a new jungle hunter. Thanks again for the great reviews

i just hate seamless... you cant do an extreme pose and an alien need to be in a crazy pose, not just standing there.

If you like Aliens, you must to buy the Neca 1/4 one. It is awesome. I did a base with pipes, and that aquarium grid/filters, and man, looks Terrífic. Thanks a lot for the review!!!!

What is or was your most disappointing and frustrating figure you have ever owned, mine was Jango Fett exclusive by Sideshow Collectibles, it was the design of the armor pieces on his thighs and shins or knees you moved his legs ever so slightly and they would constantly unpeg and fall off I'm glad I no longer have it and looking back I kind of wish I would of sent it back and got a refund for it.

Great detailed review mate! This figure does not get the recognition it deserves. I picked mine up for £150 on Facebook. It's a crazy good figure that doesn't get the love it deserves. A cool figure for sure and displays so well alongside dead pool but for me she was never an option purely because headsculpts are the most important aspect of a figure for me. I realise she was never unmasked in the film so that’s fair enough, I do have masked figures but they come with headsculpts as well such as Bo Katan etc. Congratulations on picking the figure up a real worthwhile addition to your collection which I am sure you can pose and pose again and have a lot of fun displaying😀. I got one of these too and love it. I only really cherry pick their 8" Mego scale figures, but couldn't reaist this with the Kenner packaging.

Mine just arrived and I love it.. I'm not sure if you mentioned or knew this but he basically has 3 wardrobes. You can take off his jacket and he will be in his green jumpsuit and you can remove that and he will be in his grey shirt with his white thermal underneath.

Thanks for this review, Graham, really appreciate your honesty. I was umming and ahhing over this and decided to not take the risk based on a couple of financial issues at the time, but also with Mondo's lack of track record and my lack of faith in them pulling it off. If only they'd put the effort into the figure that they did on the box. To my eyes it looks like so many bits of it were made by different companies and the end result is the figure doesn't feel cohesive at all. The complete lack of overall weathering is a huge giveaway. But that jacket being such a small fit and the other issues are too damning. I do have Mondo's BTAS Batman and Mr Freeze, liked that line, but again, not without issues and ended up giving up on collecting more as the figures were no longer distroed in my country and then too hard to get off Mondo directly. This would be third party figure of the year, but yeah, it's a first party failure to me.
