I discovered this song back when my first daughter was born and we lived in the small remote village of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the far southwest of France at the time. Me being a clueless mother in a foreign country with a premature baby that would later turn out to be the most wonderful thing to happen to me, and being completely overwhelmed at the time, will never be forgotten. I will never forget. Colette, I named you after the heroine of my childhood game, I will forever link this song to you and our time there.

To those who keep asking, it's become common for other languages to be mixed with Japanese lyrics especially for an OVA or Anime in general over the last 15 or so years. Link's Horizon's Guren no Yumiya (Attack on Titan Season 1's OP) uses German with Japanese. This should come as no surprise given the main character Eren's last name Jaeger is German for "Hunter". The opening line "Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jaeger!" translated to English is "You are the food and we are the Hunters!" The Jam Project's The Hero (One Punch Man Season 1's OP) uses English with Japanese ("Nobody knows who he is!") to provide another example but about half the song is in English. It's a Homage to Super Hero fantasy in general and they made one amazing song to say the least. Japanese artist Dean Fujioka's History Maker (Yuri! On Ice's OP) is entirely in English so...yeah.

Thats no news lol, tho this song here, almateria seems to be either completely in gibberish, or a made up language. No idea if it actually translates to sth, would love to dig about that xD Also you did a mistake. The line 'Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger' from the aot opening - indeed thats german, but it translates to 'they are the food and we are the hunters'. Makes less sense but thats the correct translation. The.. i think third opening? That other aot op mixed in a lot of german too, but always a few words in some sentences. And there it made no hecking sense what they could possibly mean.

It is in the language of los angeles, which is a language originally created for this series alone. I have not found whether it actually translates into any real language or is beautiful gibberish. I couldn't care less. It's beautiful and also haunting.

Elizabeth Veillon Probably intentionally? Just as the World Tree is named after a member of the original world savior party, it is is possible the combined world is named for the hometown of the party who created it.
