They're not Latin. They have their own culture, which is heavily influenced by Spanish and Portuguese (in the case of Brazil) culture, but it's very different from Latin culture nevertheless. There are only six Latin countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Romania and Moldova. Not one more. There are Latin minorities in Mexico, Central America and South America (people who have a large Italian or Spanish ancestry, for example). I'm Spanish, I live in Spain, there are hundreds of thousands of Central Americans and South Americans here and the cultural gap between us is abysmal. Lots of people avoid living in neighbourhoods where there is a strong Central American and South American presence.

Hey cousin...My grandfather was born in Leeds back in 1906. THe street on his birth cert is 33 Bannon street. But I can't find it a map or search. So I'm guessing that street was torn down or renamed. His Name was Ely Goldman.

The area around Elephant & Castle is really nice now after the redevelopments. There's a new park, lots of restaurants, and there are still plenty of latino shops & bars, they've just been moved into modern units next to the park. It's a shame that "La Bodeguita" is no longer there, but there are other Latin bars & restaurants a bit further down Old Kent Road.
