I am not 100% sure, but I think you are always (or almost always) safe from being shot by medusas, when you are partly inside a heart frame.. It should work exactly the same in the original game, Lolo 3. I don't know about Lolo 1 or 2, how it works..

No.. Sorry, but that's due to the poor video quality I chose to record this and the game lag that it renders the snakey invisible at times which is actually blocking the medusa.

Yeah. This movie actually shows very little of this hack overall, since the "secret area" path opens up very early access straight to the Mother Brain. Getting through the hack without using the "secret area" nor the "super missile - wave beam" is an entirely different experience.

Also, I just beat 1-3 in a simpler way than shown here with only 1 arrow changer! Happy to show you how if you want.

I can complete this hack unassisted and it usually takes about an hour or so, but for this recording I used savestates to not drag the video longer than needed for demonstration. I'm surprised you found another solution and I'm very interested to see what you came up with.

There are two wave beam upgrades in this hack, the regular one and the altered one (infinite super missiles). When either one of them is picked up, the other one becomes unavailable. You probably picked up the regular wave beam, which is not surprising, since it is (much) more probable to stumble upon on a casual play than the one acquired in the run.

Me too. I don't know why but that was hysterical to me. The end is pretty great too.

For the smaller rooms, I should have just centered them, but there was some strange issue where the shadows wouldn't appear on the left wall. Minor issue but maybe I should add an option to center anyway

I was too lazy to find out who was the creator of the editor. I am glad you seek out to me and I very much enjoyed using your level editor. I think you have done superb job with the editor :)

It's alright bud!! I was inspired to write it based on another editor someone created for Lolo 1 and 2. However, the 3rd game was always my favorite. I had a few extra ideas I wanted to put into the project, but I was too busy with college to do so.

At one point I found that data for controlling the movement of Grandpa (during the example levels). I wanted to do something more with that but didn't get around to it.

Well. I have sort of explained that and the link can be found in the description. "ps. try pushing a block as swiftly as you can when you are in the sand.." When arrow button is pressed for 1 frame to move forward in the sand. What happens due to the slowing properties of the sand is that Lolo doesn't actually yet move forward, but any objects in front of him behaves like he is pushing them forward.

Well, I have been at this for an hour or so and can't replicate this action. I end up walking directly into the medusa's firing path every time. I tried every button combo imaginable. And sorry for not being able to read. Even right now, I see no description in the video's footer that mentions it. Guess I'm blind. Oh well. I was working on a super-dee-duper hard Lolo 3 ROM myself and did nearly the whole game and thought it'd be cool to incorporate this kind of "Lolo-physics" trick into at least one of the rooms. Maybe I'll mess with it a little longer and see. While I'm here, what is the best utility to use for editing the title screen/intros? I seem to have that hangup as well. I swear my mind has fried over time. My ability to do these kind of things aren't at all what they used to be in the '80's and '90's. :(

Ok... finally figured it out. I guess it's different for my emulator. I just tapped ferociously (but lightly) on the D-pad. After about 20 more times of getting shot, I finally got it. Thank you for bringing that element of Lolo physics to my attention! Ok, nearly done with editing that ROM. On level 17-4... 6 rooms to go and I got the whole game.

Gotta love those NES glitches.

Hey. Moonwalking is actually quite easy to do. Just need to turn around in the mid air (and have some momentum in the opposite direction of where the character is facing), then (while still being in midair) press and hold UP -button. as long as UP -button is pressed, the character will moonwalk. (Also, pressing and holding UP button generally keeps character's current momentum.)

+Jennifer Cruz mirrored? This is a TAS of Super Metroid - Escape 2 romhack. I use lots of sequence breaks and the "secret key"(save the animals) to get shortcut access to Sector S and finish the game much faster.
