France tried the kicking game against Ireland and they soon gave up. I don't think England will make much of an impact against the Irish and I expect them to win by 15+ and a bonus point.

Bro, your analysis about the penalty try was wrong - the rule is that the penalised conduct must have affected the team in possession scoring in a more advantageous position as regards the conversion. Per a Nigel Owen’s, the penalised play didn’t affect where Wales would have scored (as evidenced by where they actually scored a second or two later). Also, the game changed majority when Scotland lost players to the bin. When they had 15 players on the field in the first half and the last 10 minutes, they bossed the game. Yes their discipline fell apart when the pressure ramped p and it was a slippery slope thereafter. The lack of an out and out #7 hurt Scotland hence the return of Darge. Also, O think I can only remember 1 scrum penalty against Scotland and I don’t remember any line outs being lost against the throw.

What people don't see is the impact of tactics. Boks don't seek massive scores, they seek victory. For example in the final there was no need to score more than 12 points and take risks attacking. However, if the AB's had scored, that bok team would have scored in response. The example of that is the last minute push against Ireland, and again against England

It would be interesting to see where each bok player ranks in their respective positions.

The Kiwis beat themselves - the had all the territory, all the possession, they crossed our line (twice) and only lost on the back of a couple of missed kicks and ill discipline with cards. The better team lost. Facts.

Well done for noticing the last 10 minutes game management by the boks.

lets not muck around. They won because of many very contentious calls.
@Burninglash Жыл бұрын
Nonsense, the won because at the final whistle, they had more points. If you want to blame the ref then you don't understand why you lost. Eg Frizel yellow was dirty play and caused our player to go off. That should be a red card. That hurt our game much more than you know. Your kicker missed, just like our kicker missed vs Ireland. Refs do their best to give correct and fair calls although they make mistakes as we all do. If you want to blame the red card, your captains shoulder ... SHOULDER hit the head vs kolisi head bounced up off the ball into the head. So one was low into the tackle and one was upright. Blame your coach, not the ref. AB's have given away more cards all tournament. It's a coaching issue not a rules issue.

@Burninglash a disallowed try 5 phases after a knock on lol. Cmon the tmo is out of his mind. Thats against their own law book. Even the assistant ref over ruled a touch judge to move where the kick went out. It was the least deserved win ive ever seen. Bad calls ruined the game.
@Burninglash Жыл бұрын
@MA-ik7ys not arguing the refs were perfect. Mistakes were made to the detriment of both teams. As for the disallowed try , normally after a try is scored a review of the play leading up to the try occurs. You are listening to pundits who want to pass out blame.
@Edgycoo Жыл бұрын
@@Burninglash The law, within two phases of play. The all blacks did 5 phases from the point of the knock on to the try. Even by irb's own laws the tmo was outside of his own regulation. Eventually it was seen that even prior to the knock on the boks had infringed at the lineout. There must be limits, there are limits and this was well outside them. 5 Phases. Might as well wait for a try to be scored and then go back the entire game and disallow it because of any reason.
@Burninglash Жыл бұрын
@MA-ik7ys nope that wasn't the call. The call was boks infringed followed by the AB's knock on. So then it cannot be played on, you go back to the penalty. Barnes actually double checked that with the TMO.

Putting Taukei'aho on the bench instead of Coles says to me that the ABs don't want to challenge the lineout in the 2nd half, but that they will challenge the scrum, which is a shame because I feel like pressure on the set piece is critical, but if you're basically going to be playing against 2 forward packs then I guess you've got to pick your battles because you won't win them all with a bench split like that. I've set my alarm for 6am, 2 hours before the match is scheduled here in NZ, CAN'T WAIT! No matter who wins, this is going to be epic. Best of luck to all our boys on both teams. Get up ABs!!!

one thing I would like to see stats wise, in a review or future content, as a kiwi we like to run it and pass it around and Ive had a few bok fans say to its wet weather, forwards and penalties thats the correct game. Ok. However do we have stats to back that up? My friend raised a point, which i couldnt confirm, but he raised the point that although forwards and penalty shots sound logical, the all blacks actually play better or have just as good a win percentage in the wet. We are a wet country. In fact auckland which is quite rainy still has the most attacking style in super rugby. So what I am asking is, do we have any data that running and passing rugby fails in the rain? I know its a perception, but is it true? We may score less in the rain, but that does not mean that tries and passing and running through the back is necessarily inferior as a tactic. It would be interesting if we found that many teams are changing their playing style for the rain, when in fact this could just be a contributing factor to them losing. Ultimately if you accept with more passing in the rain, more errors occur, fine, but does that mean that you score MORE by playing an in close forwards style with penalty kicks game. If not, then it will appear the change of tactic in the rain is actually not warranted.

my online persona tells me to troll but this close to a final vs our biggest foe I cant say anything but massive respect! thanks for the content, excited about tomorrow! abs fan
@Burninglash Жыл бұрын
Guys I feel sorry for you trying to figure out why the boks keep on winning. The stats don't capture the full picture. For example Duane's role in the bok team is not the breakaway runner like Savea is for nz. Playing weaker teams distorts the stats because they defend poorly. You need to find a way to rank the opposing teams relative strength and weight the stays derived from the game accordingly. Boks individual stats are low yet we win. So then your stats are not telling you what you think they are. Boks will win tomorrow.

Haha with the way the Boks forwards have been performing this is the safest bet, so I’d have to agree with you. However, the All Blacks have proven on a couple of occasions since Jason Ryan was appointed, like at Ellis Park last year and Auckland this year, that they have the potential to match Boks physicality and grit. If they can manage that again today we may have a game on our hands. Also, we’re working on improving how we weigh stats and performances based on quality of opposition and effectiveness of players who might not stand out on the statline. Guys like Etzebeth, who are the best players on their teams but don’t really stand out too much with their numbers. We’re planning on improving our analysis with such changes in future. Thank you for your feedback!

The Boks pride themselves in the depth they've got in their squad, the might rotate four out of the eight starting forwards. Starting with Ox, Mbonambi, Koch, RG, Mostert, Kolisi, Du Toit and Wiese On the bench Kitshoff, Fourie, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Smith and Vermeulen

This is the first World Cup we haven’t been labelled as favourites & have gone under the radar which is new for us 😂 as ABZ Supporters we have been waiting for this type of performance for a while 💯 I feel like the nation were confident we had the right roster but the tatics/game plan was way off. Boys confidence got knocked with the losses & as a result the coach copped all the criticism 🤷🏼♂️ also the ABz were looking for redemption after that first series loss to the Irish back in Nz & the irish banter 😜 so we knew the boys had to dig deep for this one 💯 Argentina won’t be a walk over either so I’m predicting another close game there too.
