Wonderful. Love Jim. Looking forward to seeing him in Sheffield.

This is beautiful! I sang a hymn to that tune as a child, I didn't know it was a traditional English folk melody. Sung and played by Jim Moray makes it obvious and brings out its melodic resonant qualities. Thank you!

jim moray was the man who dared take a laptop to folk gigs. here he adds crisp electric guitar to a well-worn number.

Now ladies, some red flags here, If your true love appears in your room at night, you should probably question how he got in. If his horse seems unnaturally fast, again you might want to question it... and of course your true love being as cold as the clay... Maybe start considering that black dress. LOVE this song, LOVE this arrangement! HEART BREAKING BEAUTIFUL!

I've just finished reading the part where Viola reads Todd's mother's notebook for him and then she stars singing. Hearing the song only makes me want to cry more. Patrick Ness is truly a genius.

i presume jim wrote the lyrics? love this...tune ok don't answer then, perhaps john kirkpatrick wrote the lyrics? incidentally, I think the "refrain" or "chorus" or "b music" is where jim puts it - the tonic chord not the dominant - but I am given to understand by the cognoscenti that it is the A music - so there.
@hobgoblinmusicbristol96716 жыл бұрын
The lyrics are by Adrian Shaw, who also set it to the tune.
