I would love to have such a square lawn with straight sides - my lawn looks like an outline of the Loch Ness Monster and mapping the areas out was a nightmare since my phone is ancient and the YUKA was swerving around like a drunk driver while I was trying to guide it around the edges. I hit every fence, wall, plant and lawn edging on the way around the perimeter so I'm going to have to try again. It cuts the main lawn out perfectly but it isn't clever on the edges, hence I need to remap it.
@scottsizemore7143Ай бұрын
The area mapping is much different now after setting up the sweeping areas. I will have an updated video out Sunday. I have 2 ovals, and plenty of weird routes.
@ThousandYardStareАй бұрын
@@scottsizemore7143 Nice one - I found that there is one particular area of my lawn which the YUKA refuses to travel around properly and insists on driving into the corner of my house. However, the situation is getting better but I found that I had to hold the front of the mover and guide it around manually while mapping since it seems to move a few inches then freeze and repeat that while mapping. When I'm not mapping I can manually control it without any freezing so there's some real frustration there. I'm sure I'll get there eventually and it's traveling around the rest of the lawn perfectly.

Another enjoyable vid! I remember your previous videos about finding ways to get through that garage. A few months later, now that the camera nav finally works - Would the newer firmwares make it realistic to put the dock in the garage, such that you could just leave one of the doors partially up and the other closed? Granted, we only get 80 feet when leaving the dock and it goes fast. I'm curious if you need that garage to be lit after sunset or when a job starts within it, or if the Nav just says "No freakin way" when the distance is that far. If it does work, that might make a fun tutorial vid of its own - creating a zone through that garage instead of channels so the mower can avoid stuff, and then sticking the dock in it. Then you just crack the door for the zone you're working that day, and the dogs are fine. IF it works. And I suppose, we probably wouldn't want to powercycle the mower in the dock, lol.
@scottysizeАй бұрын
Ya. I saw that you can now put the charger inside. I haven’t been brave enough to test it. I might have to in a month or so.

It’s great to see an honest review from someone who bought it with their own money. I don’t think it’s a coincidence your review seems honest while the paid reviewers only have good things to say about it. I’ve had my Luba 2 10000 since June and haven’t been able to mow with it yet. The recharge overheat protection turns my mower off every day from noon until 8pm and I have to manually go cycle the power to turn it back on. Dealing with Mammotion customer support has been a pretty awful experience. Your point about the paying customers being the beta testers is absolutely true. I’m trying to get my money back and fully regret buying a Luba, but I still like hearing your honest opinion even though we have different conclusions. (We’d probably have the same conclusion if your mower was yet to mow your yard after months of going back and forth with customer support)
@scottysizeАй бұрын
Ya. The overheating error has popped up for me as well, but it continued to charge and finished the lawn. So for me it was just an error message and had no impact. Sorry to hear you’ve had problems.

@@scottysize I knocked it off the table before I even put the bag together. It was a plastic piece that was on the main body broke off. It seems to just snap together, so I got it back together thankfully. But I got to see the Internals unintentionally.... Yeah, I've heard reports that Yuka seems to not take its full size into account and will swing its butt around and hit things with the bagger on.
@Knubs01Ай бұрын
So, if I understand you correctly, you must set up a perimeter for each zone (area). There is no need to define the perimeter of your entire property first and then define the zones.... correct??
@scottysizeАй бұрын
No. Not unless you want your entire property to be the zone. Early on, I created a video where I mapped out the zones I thought I would need. I was pretty close when I did it, but I needed to split up the back 40 into 3 zones for my sanity.

This smells like a network routing issue, where the network doesn't fail to the 4G path correctly when the Wifi and bluetooth go away. Or if it does, is the app / cloud rejecting the Luba's position updates because they're from a different IP or whatever. Since you have the SIM card, I'd be curious how horrible it'd be if you totally whacked the WiFi on the Luba, forcing it to use 100% cell. And completely reboot the Luba once the WiFi is disabled, if the setup will allow it.

I found it interesting the Luba jumped from the long row cutting to the small tree on the left to cut around it then back to the long row cutting. I'm waiting until the last breath on my lawn tractor to move to a Luba.
@scottysize2 ай бұрын
You're second part first: I sold my John Deere Zero Turn and couldn't be happier. As for the jumping - I was surprised at that too. I didn't know it until editing the video. It's almost like it said, "Wait... I forgot this part." If you watch the app screen in the corner, it missed that part. It was frozen at that time. The app was working better before this last update. I'm sure it'll get back to where it was. I just wish they'd stick with a major app update and just make bug fix updates. They have put out 2 major updates this year. Both times it broke things people had used before, then they had to fix those with bug updates.

I tried to make a channel across my two car garage and it just makes it a bit into the driveway and stops.
@scottysize2 ай бұрын
Did you zoom in and make sure it’s straight? It should show a nice smooth white line where the channel is in the map. Also, if anything gets in the way, it’ll just stop when navigating a channel. I’ve had to redo my channels quite a bit. Sometimes you have to create the channel 3 times before it’s perfect.

Bad idea, with the tilt and roll of the vehicle during travel the pyro fuse may detonate. It's also for this simple reason whenever mobile service goes to your house to for example even replace a single tire the car must not be charging due to this risk. The vehicle must be stationary while charging.
