I can't remember if it was the program listings for people to enter on their C64 was in Zzapp64 or CVG but at the ripe young age of 59 l can honestly say l have only just got over the trauma of spending ages typing them in and pressing 'run' to see the screen resetting to the boot up screen. My KZbin tag and all my gamertags throughout the generations is a homage to one of my favourite C64 games. Well done everyone involved for keeping those halcyon bygone days alive.

We’ve all been there! I spent a day typing in a bouncing ball game from a Speccy magazine, only for it to crash when the ball did its first bounce. I spent the rest of the night crying! (I was quite young!) Thanks for watching! If you haven’t been to these events before, keep an eye out. They put them on every year. 👍🏻

Am I the only one to think Melkhors Mansion looks very close to a 3d isometric Atic Atack ?

Nope! We all think it! 😎 It’s a spiritual successor to Atic Atac, hence the use of the same sound effects and whatnot. It’s a beautiful game and the soundtrack is something that will never leave your brain!

Beautiful track, that. I love the look of Vortex Tracker. I've been experimenting with OpenMPT on and off, but haven't really had the time or motivation to give it enough attention. I miss making tracker music (used to do it heavily in the 90s on Amiga).

Thanks Steve! There are more but I keep forgetting to upload them! Vortex Tracker isn’t for everyone, but I just can’t get my head around NextDAW. It can be time consuming, that’s for sure, but when it starts to come together, it’s very satisfying. Give it a go! 👍🏻

Crumbs! There are people that I spoke to that spent 6 hours getting there! They came down the day before and stayed over. Maybe that could be an option if it becomes a 2 day event? Have you been to Play Blackpool? That’s always a pretty good event!
@37Retro2 ай бұрын
I thought the event was great. Glad they had stuff other than the Spectrum also, whilst I love the system it is always fun to play with other stuff. Thought the arcade room was great, I did not see a moment when that R-Type arcade was not in use. Some good speakers and lots of spectrum machines as well as others on display. The one thing I would change would be to add more traders, there was really only one stall selling Speccy games, and I bought a few but would have liked to have been rooting around in more boxes from other sellers and that room got crazy packed out you could hardly move :) The Speccy has the pulling power all the years later.
@SpectrumNez2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I tried to get on R-Type and couldn’t! I hear you about the traders. I think that’s a limitation of the venue size. I guess there’s only so much you can fit into a space that size! It’s understandable that the Speccy still has the pulling power. It’s such a great little machine and the new ‘The Spectrum’ was really popular there wasn’t it? It was selling like hot cakes! Mine arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait!
