A lot of em nice. But O-P is part of the metro area, so they have a lot of the same type of rappers as Laf, New Iberia, Crowley, Breaux Bridge, etc. We just gotta embrace more diversity in the 337.

With towns like Opelousas, New Iberia, Crowley, Abbeville, Breaux Bridge and Eunice being in the Lafayette metro area, I usually just speak on the region as a whole. So like Get Live Clique, Twizzle amd other in Opelousas already fit some of the categories in the video.

Lafayette culture is heavily Creole, they just didn't take advantage the unique culture and create their own hip-hop identity from it. Like Zydeco and Southern Soul singers did.

New Orleans and Baton Rouge have rappers that have made it. But a area like Lafayette, the artists don't get a sniff of exposure. You're right. Places like NOLA, Baton Rouge and Lafayette are very small. But the difference between the these cities is NOLA and BR get the bag and leave to capitalize on their opportunities. Lafayette think small so small time shit comes from their efforts. Lafayette show out and aim to impress Lafayette. Their opportunities pass em by and some spend years trying to chase it again. Happening repeatedly will make mf's stop looking at Lafayette. Not to mention, Rod Wave and Quando Rondo are both from country towns, smaller than Lafayette and still got discovered. It's up to Lafayette area to figure out how to make Lafayette a hip hop city or at least bring out an artist that's known further than a 60 mile radius.

@@rekap1004 St Petersburg is way bigger city than Lafayette in population like almost x2. I do agree that Lafayette rap needs to embrace their culture.

@@shaunsylvas1542 After So Fly and Rearview with Boosie, he said he got comfortable and didn't follow his buzz. He was able to come back in 2015 with Dirty Urine, but basically repeated the same mistake. Same as most locals in the 337.

I'm from Houston and it's hard for local Houston rappers to blow up but it's easier for people from out of town like lake charles or Shreveport or Lafayette in this case.
