Definitely a baby salmon, forked tail and its maxillary doesn't extend past its eye. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of months back hooking into a baby salmon while fishing for small trout.

Ya the small par/smolts start moving around the time I was fishing in this video, late march I believe it was, same craic every year really, come across the odd one

Hello senan why do u have to wet ur hand before touching the fish
@senanstanleyfishing15 күн бұрын
They have a slime coat that protects them from bacteria, if you wipe it off with dry hands they will die after release

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment pal. Regarding competitions, I only fish the lure fishing from a boat competitions, Markko Pop on Facebook organises these. And Predator Battle Ireland. There is some perch fishing competitions also through the year that Markko organises, he’s the man to chat to if you can search him on Facebook, he will know more about various tournaments

Do you only use snaps and no swivels? Doesn’t the line twist when fishing with spinners? Best regards.
@senanstanleyfishing15 күн бұрын
I normally use a tiny swivel with a 50cm leader, the swivel is very small, bkk do good ones

Hi senan great vid, I'm wondering what river and what county you spin for trout in because I might pop my head down next summer
@senanstanleyfishingАй бұрын
Hi thank you, so I never name any of the river locations we fish on the videos, the wrong crowd to see would just be detrimental to the area, the bad side of social media, some things are best kept quiet, I’m sure you can understand. 👍 but any and all of the rivers around Ireland will hold trout, just make sure to get the areas club permission and nobody will say a word to you. 👍
@ollio-ey9otАй бұрын
@senanstanleyfishing oh ok that's completely understandable and I probably would do the same thing but thanks for explaining
